AIR LIFTING SAND

An apparatus and method for extracting sand from an underground sandstone formation. The apparatus comprising: a conduit having an upper end and a lower end to engage a sandstone formation, a gas injection line to inject gas at an injection point, wherein the gas injected at the injection point generates a low pressure region at the lower end to draw a sand slurry from the sandstone formation, and a collection port proximate to the upper end of the conduit wherein the sand slurry in the conduit is to be removed. The method comprising: lowering a pipe and air injection line into a sandstone formation, injecting air into the pipe to create a low pressure region at a lower end of the pipe to draw a sand slurry from the formation, and collecting the sand slurry at a collection port.

Immiscible fluid systems and methods of use for placing proppant in subterranean formations

Systems and methods for placing proppant in a portion of a subterranean formation (e.g., in a fracturing operation) using two or more immiscible fluids are provided. In certain embodiments, the methods comprise: introducing into a well bore penetrating a portion of a subterranean formation alternating stages of a first treatment fluid comprising one or more proppants, and a second treatment fluid comprising a lesser concentration of proppants than the first fluid, wherein the first fluid and the second fluid are substantially immiscible in one another, and wherein the alternating stages of the first and second treatment fluids are introduced into the well bore at or above a pressure sufficient to create or enhance one or more fractures in the subterranean formation.

UNIFIED FRAMEWORK FOR ADAPTIVE MODELING WITH DENSITY INCREASING FEEDBACK
20230193731 · 2023-06-22 ·

A unified framework has been designed to create and maintain a set of adaptable general models that can be deployed and efficiently trained to fit to various deployments. The unified framework incrementally fills the feature space of a high dimensionality training dataset with field observations to reduce sparseness, trains and retrains a model set with the changing global training dataset, and then deploys a selected adaptable general model for training/fitting to a specified deployment scenario. Data that is generated by deployment adapted models can be validated and then added to the global training dataset that is used to train and update the general models. With the increasing density of the global training dataset, the general models can more quickly converge for a deployment scenario.

METHOD OF MONITORING FLUID FLOW FROM A RESERVOIR USING WELL TREATMENT AGENTS

A method of treating a multi-zoned subterranean formation with composites having well treatment agents is disclosed. The well treatment agent treated in each zone is distinguishable. At least a portion of the well treatment agent is released from one of the composites into the well or formation. The formation of undesirable contaminants may be inhibited or prevented in the well or in the formation by the release of the well treatment agent from one or more of the composites. The well treatment agent also serves as a tracer. When fluid transported from the formation or well is collected, the source of the transported fluid may be determined by comparing a chemical or physical parameter of the well treatment agent with a working set of known taggants.
