Downhole apparatus
Downhole apparatus comprises first and second tools for location in a tubing string. The first tool has a first seat of a first diameter and the second tool has a second seat of a second diameter larger than the first diameter. First and second activating devices are provided for use in activating the respective first and second tools. The first activating device includes a first activating profile having an extended diameter larger than the first diameter and smaller than the second diameter and a retracted diameter smaller than the first diameter. The second activating device includes a second activating profile having an extended diameter larger than the second diameter and a retracted diameter smaller than the first diameter.
Removably mounted actuator assembly
A powered actuating assembly configured for mounting on a tubular valve body. The actuating assembly includes: (a) an actuator unit configured to impart torque to the valve stem; (b) an actuator mounting plate with a first surface supporting the actuator unit and a second surface configured to engage and resist movement relative to the valve body; and (c) securing links configured to extend around a valve body surface opposite the mounting plate and secure the mounting plate to the valve body.
Well tool device with a breakable ball seat
A well tool device (1) comprising a housing (10) having a through channel (11) with a first end (11a) and a second end (11b), said housing (10) further comprises a breakable ball seat (15), wherein a drop ball (17) received in the ball seat (15) partially or fully closes fluid communication in the through channel (11) of the housing (10). The breakable ball seat (15) is made of brittle and/or tempered glass, wherein the ball seat (15) is broken by a pressure build up in the housing (10) forcing the ball seat (15) against one or more disintegrating means (16), said disintegrating means (16) are provided as inside protrusions in the through channel (11).
High strength dissolvable compositions for use in subterranean wells
A polymetaphosphate composition and method for temporarily sealing a perforation in a wellbore to facilitate a treatment therein and a well tool which can include a flow path, and a flow blocking device which selectively prevents flow through the flow path. The well tool can include a polymetaphosphate composition. A method of constructing a downhole well tool can include forming a structure of a solid mass comprising a polymetaphosphate composition, and incorporating the structure into the well tool.
Optical fiber connection
Optical fiber connections and their applications in downhole assemblies are described herein. The downhole assembly includes a well completion element with an end that couples with a corresponding well completion element. An optical fiber extends along at least a portion of the well completion element and transmits an optical signal using a first mode. The well completion element includes an optical fiber connector that is coupled to the optical fiber. The connector also includes a mode converter that receives the optical signal from the optical fiber and converts the optical signal from the first mode to a second larger mode. This second larger mode may be more robustly communicated to a corresponding optical fiber connector affixed to the corresponding well completion element.
Apparatus And Method For Preventing Particle Interference Of Downhole Devices
A device and method for inhibiting particle (e.g., sand) accumulation on down hole equipment, such as an ESP, particularly when the equipment is not in use. The device and methods permit the equipment to start and stop with fewer break downs and at greater efficiency. The device includes a central tubular section connecting the equipment to the production tubing string. The tubular section is surrounded by an annulus and a number of ports in the tubular section angled to allow fluid communication between the tubular section and the annulus during operation, but prevent particles from flowing from the annulus into the tubular section when not in use. A check valve between the tube and ESP assists in isolating the ESP from sand.
Downhole fluid control apparatus
A downhole fluid control apparatus comprises first and second conduits for providing communication between a pressure source and a downhole device, and a valve provided within a housing and configurable between a first configuration in which the first and second conduits are in pressure communication via the valve, and a second configuration in which the first and second conduits are isolated from each other. The apparatus further comprises an actuator for operating the valve. The actuator is in pressure communication with the first and second conduits and with an ambient region external of the apparatus such that when the pressure within each of the first and second conduits is lower than the ambient pressure the valve is configured in its first configuration, and when the pressure within at least one of the first and second conduits exceeds the ambient pressure the valve is configured in its second configuration.
MULTI PLUG SYSTEM
An assembly and a method of setting a plug in a borehole. The assembly includes a first lock, a second lock axially separated from the first lock. The plug is located between the first lock and the second lock. A bore of the assembly passes through the first lock, the second lock and the plug. A ball is dropped through the bore and activates the first lock and the second lock to allow the plug to rotate into a set configuration in the borehole.
DOWNHOLE DEGRADABLE STAGING TOOL
An apparatus for selectively opening a passage through a downhole casing comprises an elongate cylindrical housing defining a central bore therein and having at least one passage extending therethrough between the central bore and an exterior of the housing, the housing being configured to be located in line within a downhole casing, a ball seat slidably located within the central bore so as to be operable to selectively cover or uncover the at least one passage and a sealing sleeve slidably located within the central bore between an open and closed position wherein the sealing sleeve valve covers the at least one passage in the closed position and uncovers the at least one passage in the open position.
Reservoir isolation valve for secondary completion
Disclosed herein is a reservoir isolation valve for secondary completion, which includes a shell assembly, a sleeve assembly arranged in the shell assembly, a reset spring arranged between the shell assembly and the sleeve assembly, a movable tube, an inner limit tube, an outer limit tube, an outer bearing socket, an inner bearing socket, a thrust bearing, a ball valve arranged in the sleeve assembly, a stepped shaft fixed on the ball valve, a transmission mechanism configured for connecting the movable tube to the stepped shaft and allowing the stepped shaft to rotate and a startup part.
