STABILIZATION SYSTEM FOR A MINING MACHINE
A mining machine including a frame, a cutting head moveably coupled to the frame and pivotable about an axis that is substantially perpendicular to a first mine surface, and a first actuator for stabilizing the frame relative to the first mine surface. The first actuator is coupled to the frame and includes a first end extendable in a first direction to engage the first mine surface. The extension of the first actuator is automatically controlled based on measurements of at least one indicator of the force between the first actuator and the first mine surface.

CUTTING APPARATUS
A cutting apparatus suitable for creating tunnels and subterranean roadways includes independently pivoting supports that each carry a respective independently pivoting arm and a rotatable cutting head. Each cutting head via the supports and arms, is configured to slew laterally outward in a sideways direction and to pivot in a vertical upward and downward direction. The supports and arms are mounted on a linear moving sled carried by a main frame.

Machine and Method of Cutting Material
A machine includes an undercarriage having propulsions devices such as continuous tracks and a cutter head disposed on a cutter boom that is slidably supported over the undercarriage. During operation, the cutter head is positioned proximate to the cutting surface and may be maneuvered through a predetermined set of operations to make a plurality of horizontal or vertical cuts while feeding the cutter head into the surface. Once the cutter boom is fully extended, the machine must be trammed to a new position using the continuous tracks to conduct the next predetermined set of operations. The machine may be configured to retract the cutter boom prior to tramming the machine to avoid damage to the cutter boom and/or cutting surface.
Machine and Method of Cutting Material
A machine for cutting material includes an undercarriage including propulsion device for propelling the machine and a cutter head disposed on a tool support and positioning assembly movably supported by the undercarriage to remove material from a cutting surface. The machine further includes a plurality of ground-engaging devices connected to the undercarriage that can be simultaneously raised and lowered with respect to a ground floor. Examples of ground-engaging devices include stabilizers for stabilizing the machine when milling or cutting material and a load shield that prevents material from scattering underneath the machine.
Self-Propelled Construction Machine
The present invention relates to a self-propelled construction machine, in particular a road milling machine, a recycler or a surface miner, comprising a machine frame 1 supported by a chassis 2 which comprises front and rear running gear 3, 4. A working device 5 is arranged on the machine frame 1 and comprises a working roller 17 for working the ground. Lifting devices 15, 16 are associated with the individual running gears 3, 4 and can each be retracted or extended for raising or lowering the running gears with respect to the machine frame. In addition, the construction machine comprises a control unit 20 for actuating the lifting devices 15, 16, which control unit comprises a lifting position measuring device 22 for detecting the lifting position of the lifting devices and a tilt detection device 23 for detecting the tilt of the machine frame 1 transversely to the working direction A of the construction machine. The control unit 20 provides a first mode of operation for working the ground and a second mode of operation for moving the construction machine, and is characterised in that, in the second mode of operation, the lifting devices 15, 16 associated with the individual running gears 3, 4 or wheel are actuated in such a way that the machine frame 1 is substantially leveled transversely to the working direction A of the construction machine, the ground clearance b preferably being at a maximum or the distance not falling below a minimum distance.
