Ram accelerator augmented drilling system
Systems for drilling or tunneling include an assembly for accelerating a projectile into a region of geologic material. An interaction between the projectile and the geologic material extends a borehole and forms debris. The debris may be reduced in size by moving the debris to a crushing device. The reduced-size debris is then moved toward the surface using fluid movement. Water jets or other types of devices may be used to cut or deform a perimeter of a region of geologic material before the projectile is accelerated to control the shape of the borehole and the manner in which debris is broken from the geologic material.
Apparatus, method and computer program product for designing blasting order
An apparatus and method for designing a blasting sequence for a drilling pattern of a round. The apparatus (11) is configured to assist selecting one or more drill holes (3) for each time delay of the blast. The apparatus calculates burst volume (V.sub.B) for the selected drill hole set (34) and ensures that previously blasted free volume (V.sub.F) can receive it when being fired. The apparatus may also take into account burst angles burst distances and ground vibrations when suggesting the drill hole sets.

Method and arrangement for preparing a charging plan
A method for preparing a charging plan for rock cavern excavation, in which plan drill hole locations for a round to be drilled in a tunnel face are determined in a predetermined coordinate system by using a drilling plan created by means of a computer-assisted design program. The method determines pull-out of a round on the basis of the locations of the hole ends and the topography of the rock remaining after a round blast, and designs or modifies a charging plan for a subsequent round on the basis of the thus determined pull-out.
Apparatus and Method for Preparing a Blast Hole in a Rock Face During a Mining Operation
Apparatus and methods for preparing a blast hole in a rock face during a mining operation are disclosed. An exemplary method comprises: deploying a first tool toward the blast hole in the rock face via a common tool outlet of a feed unit using a first tool station of the feed unit; retracting the first tool from the common tool outlet using the first tool station of the feed unit and retaining the first tool in the first tool station; and while the first tool is retained in the first tool station, deploying a second tool toward the blast hole in the rock face through the common tool outlet of the feed unit using a second tool station of the feed unit.
Inhibited emulsions for use in blasting in reactive ground or under high temperature conditions
Methods of delivering inhibited emulsions are provided. The methods can include mixing an emulsion with a separate inhibitor solution to form the inhibited emulsion. Inhibitor solutions including water, an inhibitor, and a crystallization point modified are provided. Systems for delivering inhibited emulsions are also provided.
MINE VEHICLE BOOM POSITIONING CONTROL
A method for generation of a boom trajectory for automated boom positioning includes the steps of receiving target pose data indicative of at least target position of a first boom object of the boom for positioning a work machine of the mine vehicle to a target pose in accordance with a mine work plan, receiving geometry data of the first boom object, the geometry data being mapped with start pose data indicative of the start position and orientation of the first boom object, receiving obstacle data, selecting trajectory generation locations for the first boom object, and generating, before starting positioning of the work machine for the target pose, a positioning trajectory for each of the selected trajectory generation locations on the basis of the target pose data, the geometry data, the start pose data, and the obstacle data.
TUNNELING AND MINING METHOD USING PRE-CONDITIONED HOLE PATTERN
Systems for forming or extending a tunnel or shaft within geologic material may include a ram accelerator assembly for accelerating one or more projectiles into geologic material to weaken a region of the geologic material. The projectile(s) pre-condition the geologic material, such as by forming one or more holes in a central region of the material or to define a perimeter of the region to be displaced. A cutting tool or subsequent projectile impacts may then be used to remove the weakened material. The voids formed by the first projectile(s) cause compressive forces from subsequent impacts or cutting operations to be converted to tension forces that more efficiently break geologic material, which may fall into the voids created by the first projectile(s). The voids created by the projectile impacts may also control the material that is removed and the shape of a resulting section of the tunnel or shaft.
