Vision-Based Railway Component Characterization and Method
A railroad tie maintenance machine is configured to detect and seal spike holes in a railroad tie formed by the removal of railroad spikes. The vehicle includes a mothership vehicle and a shuttle cart that are connected by a tether. The shuttle cart is movable relative to the mothership vehicle. The shuttle cart includes a filler workhead having an imaging device, a light source, and an injection wand assembly. The imaging device is configured to take photographs or video beneath the shuttle cart while it travels along the railway. Using a computer vision system, the location of the ties and the spike holes in the ties are identified, after which the injection wand assembly is moved in lateral and longitudinal direction to overlie a spike hole. Thereafter, the injector can be inserted into the spike hole, after which a chemical solution is used to fill the spike holes.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A RAILWAY TRACK SUPPORT, ASSOCIATED RAILWAY TRACK SUPPORT AND RAILWAY INSTALLATION
This method for manufacturing a railway track support comprising a plurality of prefabricated elements (28) comprises the following successive steps: providing, in a production zone (16) for prefabricated elements (28) located near an installation zone (14), a movable insertion machine (52) configured to arrange at least one insert (34) in a fresh concrete block, the production zone being separate from the installation zone; pouring and shaping fresh concrete in order to form individual fresh concrete blocks having predetermined dimensions; arranging at least one insert in each fresh concrete block using the movable insertion machine (52); drying the fresh concrete blocks to obtain the prefabricated elements (28).
