Concrete expansion joint insert

A concrete expansion joint insert includes a body having two ends, two longitudinal edges between the ends and two side surfaces between the longitudinal edges. The body has a length, a width and a thickness. The length is greater than the width and the width is greater than the thickness. The width and thickness correspond to dimensions of the ends of the body. The length and the thickness correspond to dimensions of the longitudinal edges. The length and the width correspond to dimensions of the side surfaces. At least a portion of the body has a first surface characteristic and at least one of the longitudinal edges has a second surface characteristic that is different than the first surface characterization. The second surface characteristic comprises at least one of a color, a texture and a profile.

SYSTEM FOR SECURING SEMI-RIGID FOAM MEMBERS, AND RELATED DEVICES, COMPONENTS, AND METHODS

A system for securing a semi-rigid foam member with respect to a poured curable material structure includes a semi-rigid foam member and a stabilizing bracket. Each stabilizing bracket comprises a body and at least one protrusion extending from a facial surface of the body. Each protrusion is configured to be manually and toollessly inserted into the semi-rigid foam member to secure the body of the respective stabilizing bracket to the semi-rigid foam member. The body of each stabilizing bracket can be secured to a support structure to secure the body and the semi-rigid foam member to a support surface of the support structure, with a base surface of the body and a base surface of the semi-rigid foam member abutting the support surface. The semi-rigid foam member is disposed adjacent to the poured curable material structure during curing.

A method of forming concrete dowel tubes comprises forming such dowel tube from a roll of steel sheet material and occurs in a continuous process rather than indexed manner. A method of grouting concrete dowel tubes into holes formed in existing cured concrete comprises pumping grout through the dowel tubes to backfill the grout around the dowel tubes between the dowel tubes and the holes.

METHOD FOR INSTALLING CONCRETE CRACK INDUCING EXPANSION JOINT FILLER, AND APPARATUS THEREFOR
20170044757 · 2017-02-16 ·

The present invention relates to a method for installing a crack inducing expansion joint filler when placing concrete so as to reduce cracks generated during concrete construction, and an apparatus therefor and, more particularly, to a method for installing a concrete crack inducing expansion joint filler and an apparatus therefor which can vertically install and fix a plurality of fixed rod shafts on a bottom surface, place concrete, and then fit connection means to the fixed rod shafts while connecting and installing a joint filler member, having a cover means which can be attached and detached between the connection means, before the concrete is cured. Thus, since it is possible to install the joint filler member at the same time as placing the concrete on the bottom surface the method and apparatus can significantly reduce the concrete construction period and also cause that cracks generated by the joint filler during concrete curing can be reduced to a minimum, thereby increasing concrete durability and enhancing construction efficiency.

TRANSFORMED CONTINUOUSLY REINFORCED CONCRETE PAVEMENT STRUCTURE USING SHORT REINFORCING BAR AND CRACK INDUCTION

The present invention relates to a transformed continuously reinforced concrete pavement structure using a short reinforcing bar and crack induction, the structure including: a crack induction part combined with short reinforcing bars spaced apart from each other, the short reinforcing bars replacing a predetermined number of continuous reinforcing bars in a concrete pavement layer of a continuously reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP) structure.
