SLAB BOLSTER UPPER AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME
20180298614 · 2018-10-18 ·

The present disclosure relates to a slab bolster upper for supporting rebars in a reinforced concrete structure. The slab bolster upper comprises an elongated base defining a lower surface, an upper surface for supporting the rebars, a first edge and a second edge opposite the first edge, voids formed through the elongated base to facilitate free flow of concrete therethrough and around the elongated base, a first connexion integrally formed about the first edge of the elongated base and a second connexion integrally formed about the second edge of the elongated base. The first and second connexions are configured to securely engage with corresponding first and second connexions of adjacent slab bolster uppers for interconnecting a plurality of slab bolster uppers together.

Concrete runways, roads, highways and slabs on grade and methods of making same

The invention comprises a method of forming a slab on grade. The method comprises placing a first layer of insulating material horizontally on the ground and placing plastic concrete for a slab on grade on the first layer of insulating material. The plastic concrete is then formed into a desired shape having a top and sides. A second layer of insulating material is placed on the top of the plastic concrete and the first and second layers of insulating material are left in place until the concrete is at least partially cured. The second layer of insulating material is then removed. The product made by the method is also disclosed. A slab on grade is also disclosed.

Matrix basalt reinforcement members for concrete
10036164 · 2018-07-31 · ·

Matrix basalt reinforcing members for concrete. The basalt members are specifically formed to provide tension support having a beneficial use with pervious concrete used in large areas such as sidewalk and parking lot. The basalt reinforcing members add structural rigidity to the pervious concrete, making the pervious concrete capable of supporting heavy loads such as trucks without cracking while allowing water to pass through the concrete. The basalt reinforcing members are formed from roving crosses and interlaces in between each side of the figure 8 shape to mitigate potential for sheer at crossovers.

Fiber ring reinforcement structures

A method for making a reinforced concrete structure and reinforcement agents are provided. In some embodiments, the method includes obtaining a mold for the reinforced concrete structure. A lattice is formed within the mold, where the lattice includes inter-locking ringed fibers and where each inter-locking ringed fiber is a fiber formed into a ringed structure that is inter-locked with at least one neighboring inter-locking ringed fiber in the lattice. The lattice is then encased by filling the mold with concrete. In some embodiments, the reinforcement agents are a plurality of ringed fiber-structures, each of which is coiled into a ringed structure that may or may not inter-lock with at least one neighboring ringed fiber(s)-structure.

FIELD-ASSEMBLY CONCRET DOWEL BASKET
20180195240 · 2018-07-12 ·

A field-assembly dowel basket for concrete construction configured for in-the-field assembly from standardized components. This allows a number of standard components, including clips, connectors and wire frame components, to be conveniently transported and stored on construction sites to facilitate on-site assembly of dowel baskets on an as-needed, where-needed basis. Since the dowel basket components are much smaller than assembled baskets, they can be shipped and stored much more cost effectively. Standardization of components allows mass production, consolidates inventory management, and avoids the need for ad hoc fabrication for each construction site. On-site fabrication largely eliminates welding from the dowel basket fabrication process (wire frame clips may involve welding), avoids shipping of fabricated dowel baskets, and allows assembly of dowel basket by construction workers as opposed to highly skilled welding shops.
