Non-stick, asphalt-resistive tool and associated use thereof
10132048 · 2018-11-20 ·

A hand tool includes an elongated handle suitably sized and shaped for handling HMA, and an implement attached to a distal end of the elongated handle. Such an implement includes: a non-stick, asphalt-resistant top layer, and a metal core directly attached to the non-stick, asphalt-resistant top layer, and a non-stick, asphalt-resistant bottom layer directly attached to the metal core. Notably, the metal core is intercalated between the non-stick, asphalt-resistant top layer and the non-stick, asphalt-resistant bottom layer. Advantageously, each of the non-stick, asphalt-resistant top layer and the non-stick, asphalt-resistant bottom layer prohibits hot mix asphalt from adhering onto the implement.

FLOAT, FLOAT ASSEMBLY, FLOAT ADAPTER AND INTERFACE, AND FLOAT VIBRATION APPARATUS, AND METHODS

A concrete float, float assembly, float adapter and interface, and float vibration apparatus and methods are described. A concrete float has improved surfaces, and structures for controlling flow of wet concrete. An interface such as may be included in a quick attach/release configuration may be integrated on a float, and/or may be added onto a float for quick attach/release of a pivot assembly. Adapters may ease attachment or release of an assembly, and may be an interengaging element, such as a sliding dovetail as an interengaging element, or an adapter may be used to place an assembly in tension to secure the assembly. A vibration assembly may be included and configured to have a low center of mass, can have a user display, an accelerometer, and/or other components. A pivot assembly may be included for easier use by an operator, and may include a user display, quick release mechanisms.

Hand Float for Spreading Concrete
20180266060 · 2018-09-20 ·

A hand concrete float is formed with a plastic base member affixed by fasteners to an arched handle. The base member includes a support portion and a working portion. The support portion has the arched handle connected to the upper surface thereof, while the working portion is integrally formed with the support portion on the bottom surface thereof. The working portion is formed with a chamfer extending around the perimeter of the working portion to make the working portion smaller that the support portion. The working portion is also formed with grooves that crisscross to form diamond-shaped landings. The grooves have a width sufficient to allow concrete to accumulate within the grooves to season the hand concrete float before operative use. The concrete filled grooves provide a rough effective working surface that has a long operative life with the weight thereof commensurate with conventional hand concrete floats.
