System and method for slip forming concrete barriers
Systems and methods for the continuous slip form construction of concrete barriers over support cages. A tube feeder of a slip form construction system can include angled tubes that can direct reinforcing bars into a concrete barrier and also provide space between the tubes for insertion of a support cage through the system and into the concrete barrier.

A civil engineering machine and a method of controlling the machine are based on the position of at least one reference point which is relevant to the control of the civil engineering machine being changed, as the civil engineering machine moves, as a function of a relative position of the at least one reference point relative to a desired path of travel.
Transition on the fly
A system for varying the width of a molded concrete slab on the fly as the slab is being molded. Position and height of the paving machine relative to an external reference system are determined and controlled using at least two 3D stringless reference objects. An additional sensor provides a signal corresponding to a frame width and thus a concrete slab width, and an actuator controls the frame width actively as the paving machine advances.
Aggregate spreading system
An aggregate spreading system includes a dump truck that has a cab and a bed. The bed may contain an aggregate. A transport unit is coupled to the dump truck. The transport unit is positioned on the bed to urge the aggregate forwardly in the bed. A distribution unit is coupled to the dump truck. The distribution unit is positioned on the bed to receive the aggregate from the transport unit. Thus, the distribution unit distributes the aggregate onto a support surface. The distribution unit levels the aggregate on the support surface when the aggregate has been released onto the support surface.
Height adjustable concrete form assembly
A form assembly is provided for forming a concrete structure during setting of the concrete. Included in the form assembly are a first barrier assembly having a first inner surface and a first outer surface; a second barrier assembly having a second inner surface, a second outer surface, an upper barrier, and a lower barrier. A channel is defined by the first and second inner surfaces of the first and second barrier assemblies for pouring the concrete into the channel. The second barrier assembly includes at least one height adjustment assembly being connected at one end to the upper barrier, and at an opposite end to the lower barrier such that the upper barrier vertically reciprocates along a vertical guide of the upper barrier relative to the lower barrier for adjusting an overall height of the form assembly using the at least one height adjustment assembly.
Frame width adjustment by steering
A self-propelled construction machine includes machine frame that is laterally extendible to adjust a width of the machine frame. A frame lock can selectively lock and unlock the machine frame to permit the width adjustment. A controller includes a frame extension mode configured to steer at least one ground engaging unit to provide a lateral force to adjust the width of the machine frame as the machine is driven across the ground surface by the ground engaging units.
Transition On The Fly
A system is provided for varying the width of a molded concrete slab on the fly as the slab is being molded. Position and height of the paving machine relative to an external reference system are determined and controlled using at least two 3D stringless reference objects. Selective clamping of chassis
Methods of and apparatus for controlling relative telescoping extension or retraction of multiple telescoping assemblies is provided. The telescoping assemblies connect the main frame of a slipform paver to a side member of the slipform paver. Each telescoping assembly has a telescopic lock associated with the telescoping assembly. A common telescoping force is applied across the telescoping assemblies to widen or narrow the frame width of the slipform paver. Extension of the telescoping assemblies is monitored, and activation of the telescopic locks is controlled so as to determine which of the telescoping assemblies is allowed to telescope under application of the common telescoping force.
Swing over steering
A self-propelled construction machine includes a plurality of swing legs, each swing leg being supported from a ground surface by an associated crawler track steerably connected to an outer end of its associated swing leg. Pivotal movement of a swing leg may be accomplished by steering the associated crawler track through a non-zero steering angle until the lateral movement of the crawler track achieves the desired pivoting movement of the associated swing leg.
Selective Clamping Of Chassis
Methods of and apparatus for controlling relative telescoping extension or retraction of multiple telescoping assemblies is provided. The telescoping assemblies connect the main frame of a slipform paver to a side member of the slipform paver. Each telescoping assembly has a telescopic lock associated with the telescoping assembly. A common telescoping force is applied across the telescoping assemblies to widen or narrow the frame width of the slipform paver. Extension of the telescoping assemblies is monitored, and activation of the telescopic locks is controlled so as to determine which of the telescoping assemblies is allowed to telescope under application of the common telescoping force.
