An expansion joint cover for insertion in an expansion gap comprising a first frame section for attachment to a substrate at one side of the expansion gap, the first frame section having a flat surface; a second frame section for attachment to a substrate at an opposite side of the expansion gap, the second frame section having a first connector; a centre section configured to span the expansion gap and slide on the flat surface of the first frame section, the centre section having a second connector; and a linkage section configured to engage with the first and second connectors to connect the centre section to the second frame section, wherein the linkage section can pivot within the first and second connectors to allow movement of the centre section with respect to the second frame section.

Disclosed is a bridge expansion joint for connecting upper plates of a bridge in such a way that it enables the upper plates of the bridge to stretch or to be contracted in order to counteract the contraction and expansion of the bridge according to the changes in temperature, which is capable of preventing the accumulation of foreign substances and of easily discharging them to the outside. A pair of lower plates is disposed between one bridge deck section and the other bridge deck section with leaving a predetermined interval. An upper plate is respectively disposed on an upper surface of the lower plate, in which the width of the upper plate in the horizontal direction is smaller than that of the lower plate. A load supporting means is disposed on the upper surface of the upper plate. The load supporting means comprises a pair of link members or a pair of finger members. A reinforced plate is disposed between the load supporting means and the lower plate, in which an inclined plane is respectively provided at both sides of the reinforced plate so that is the reinforced plate has a narrow top and wide bottom-shaped section.

A bridge expansion and contraction device comprises a gap crossing plate disposed in a first mounting recess and a fixed plate dispose in a second mounting recess. One or more height adjustment assemblies, lower support base assemblies, a rotating shaft assembly and upper pressing assemblies are disposed in the first mounting recess. Each lower support base assembly is connected to one corresponding height adjustment assembly, the rotating shaft assembly is supported on the lower support base assemblies, each upper pressing assembly is connected to the one corresponding height adjustment assembly and located above the aforementioned lower support base assembly and presses the rotating shaft assembly. In a process of mounting, the flatness between the expansion and contraction device and the bridge floor is adjusted, and the device can be mounted quickly without bolts. The present invention further discloses an installation method of the bridge expansion and contraction device.
