LOWERING SYSTEM AND SUPPORT DEVICE, AND CEILING FORMWORK HAVING SUCH A LOWERING SYSTEM
The invention relates to a lowering system (10) for lowering ceiling formworks (70) during the removal of formworks of a building ceiling, comprising a reciprocating piston (14) and a support base (18), and a locking device, wherein the reciprocating piston (14) is slidably mounted in the support base (18), and can be pushed from an extended working position to a lowered position, and can be locked in the extended position by means of the locking device. The locking device has a pivot bearing and an eccentric lever (16), wherein the eccentric lever (16) is rotatably mounted in the pivot bearing, and the reciprocating piston (14) and the support base (18) are supported against each other in the working position by means of the eccentric lever (16).
Composite bridge deck structural panel and method of fabrication
A composite structural panel for use in bridge structures, and method of manufacturing same, comprises a top panel and a bottom panel separated by and attached to at least one, but preferably a plurality, of structural composite preforms which may be fabricated by a continuous manufacturing process and may be saturated by resin using a continuous wetting process. The composite preforms may take any cross sectional shape but are preferably trapezoidal. The top and bottom panels may be fabricated from a plurality of layers of woven fabric layers and non-woven fabric layers which are saturated with a resin that is subsequently cured using cure processes known in the art. The composite structural panel of the invention is usable as a flat structural member for use as bridge decking, ramps, trestles, and any application requiring a structural panel.
Bridge overhang bracket assembly
An improved bridge overhang bracket assembly may include top, diagonal and side members. A hanger element may be mounted to the top member and pivotally attached proximate to the top end of the side member. The hanger element may be translatable along the top member for adjusting its longitudinal position, to vary the positions of the diagonal and side members quickly and easily, without disassembly, and may enable folding of the members to a shipping/storage position. A second hanger element may be mounted to the top member for attaching the assembly to a tie rod. The diagonal member may include at least one connection tab for receiving a bolt to connect the top and diagonal members together in the shipping/storage position. Also disclosed is a fastener assembly for securing a side rail to a T-bolt channel.
PNEUMATIC SUPPORT
A pneumatic support having a body (112) which can be pneumatically pressurised and which, when under operating pressure, operationally holds a compression member (96, 128 to 131) which extends substantially over the length of the body and a tensile member (98, 138 to 141) which likewise extends substantially over the length (I) of the body at a distance from each other, wherein the compression member (96, 128 to 131) and the tensile member (98, 138 to 141) are connected to each other at the end in connection nodes (91), and wherein the body which can be pneumatically pressurised has pneumatic drop-stitch transverse fibre pressure panels (100, 165, 113 to 116).
ADJUSTABLE FORMS FOR POURED CONCRETE STRUCTURES AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
An apparatus for adjusting a haunch height and related systems and methods includes a support angle. The support angle includes first and second flanges, and a surface of the first flange includes a hole. The apparatus also includes a coil rod and a rotatable nut.
Pultruded GFRP Reinforcing Bars, Dowels and Profiles with Carbon Nanotubes
A glass fiber reinforced polymer reinforcing structure comprised of glass fibers mixed with one or more polymers. Incorporated in the polymer are a hybrid mix of pristine multi-walled carbon nanotubes at 0.0-4.0 wt. % of the polymer and multi-walled carbon nanotubes functionalized with carboxylic group at 0.0-2.0 wt. % of the polymer. The above mixture is pultruded to produce GFRP reinforcing bars, dowels or structural profiles.
PREFABRICATED, PRESTRESSED BRIDGE MODULE
A method for making a prefabricated, prestressed module includes arranging one or more steel beams atop a supporting formwork element in a direction transverse to the supporting formwork element and arranging one or more precast deck elements across the one or more steel beams to create a substantially continuous surface. The one or more precast deck elements have pockets for receiving connectors that protrude from the one or more steel beams. The method also includes arranging the supporting formwork element to allow the one or more steel beams to bend into a cambered shape to impart compressive stresses to a bottom flange of the one or more steel beams and tension stresses to a top flange of the one or more steel beams and inserting grout into the pockets to hold the cambered shape and to bond the one or more precast deck elements to the connectors and the top flange.
Bridge overhang bracket assembly with connection element
A bridge overhang bracket assembly includes a top member having an upper surface. The top member and a diagonal member are pivotally attached proximate to respective distal and upper ends thereof. The diagonal member and a side member are pivotally attached proximate to respective lower and bottom ends thereof. A connection element is mounted to the top member and is pivotally attached to a top end of the side member. The connection element is translatable along the top member to adjust a longitudinal position of the connection element relative to the top member. The connection element does not extend above the upper surface of the top member.
Bridge assembly and method
A bridge assembly includes a plurality of platform members which may be secured to support beams via individual platform chassis which are configured to allow tool-less attachment bolt heads thereto. A plurality of specially configured clamps are attached to the free ends of the bolts and the clamps are used to secure the platform members to the platform chassis. The platform chassis are each secured to the outer support beams via L-brackets that are mounted between the chassis and support beams. The support beams include flanged channels wherein the heads of a plurality of bolts may be attached without the need for tools. The platform members may be laid in either a parallel or perpendicular orientation with respect to the outer support beams with two different clamp styles being used depending on the orientation selected.
