Road safety barrier assembly has a barrier and an electric circuit that can be supplied with direct current. The circuit includes an outward electric cable and a return electric cable, and sensors along the barrier for detecting impact of a vehicle against respective portions of the barrier, each sensor causing upon impact detection a switching of electric current from the outward electric cable towards the return electric cable at the respective portion of the barrier. A device is arranged so as to measure a voltage value between the outward electric cable and the return electric cable upstream of the sensors. A control unit is predisposed to receive a signal indicating the voltage value measured by the voltage measuring device and is configured to calculate the distance between the voltage measuring device and the location of impact against the road safety barrier, by applying Ohm's Law.

Proposed is a smart guardrail capable of absorbing a shock induced when a vehicle collides with the guardrail to protect an occupant against the shock and of in real time performing monitoring and remote control to prevent a subsequent traffic accident. The smart guardrail, including a support fixedly installed at an equal distance at a center or an edge of a road, and a guardrail plate fixedly coupled to one or both sides of the support, further includes: a shock absorption member absorbing and thus reducing a shock induced when a vehicle collides with the guardrail; and a terminal configured to detect an external shock, an appearance of a wild animal on the road, and transmit a warning signal to an adjacent terminal positioned in a direction opposite to a traveling direction of the vehicle and to terminals positioned in succession behind the adjacent terminal.

The first portion is coupled to a guardrail at a location adjacent to a cable anchor bracket, which is an attachment point where a cable couples to the guardrail. Such a post may also satisfy the need for a foundation able to resist ground forces, in particular the effects of wind on the exterior of the array, and may reduce problems with beam refusal. The post may be used in other applications such as guardrail posts. In contrast to existing posts for solar arrays, the high-grade post may be formed from higher-grade steel.
