MODULAR ROAD SAFETY BARRIER AND AN EMERGENCY OPENABLE PASSAGE
20230203767 · 2023-06-29 ·

A central road safety barrier includes modules mutually couplable by means of a bolt which engages holes made in protrusions extending in a longitudinal direction at the ends of the modules. Walls adjacent to the protrusions improve the transfer between the modules of an impact of an errant vehicle on the barrier and improve response to an impact. The safety barrier provides an emergency openable passage. A module may include a wall solidly constrained to an upright and adjacent to the protrusions of the module on a first side of the barrier. An openable passage module has a further wall solidly constrained to a further upright and adjacent to the protrusions of the openable passage module on a second side of the barrier.

GLARE SCREEN SYSTEM

A glare screen system comprises a number of glare screen units arranged in an end-to-end manner. Each glare screen unit comprises a number of upright paddles integrally formed with a horizontal rail. The paddles are tapered and hollow, allowing the glare screen unit to be nested on top of another one of the glare screen units. In addition, each glare screen unit comprises a receiver portion and an attachment portion at opposite ends. The receiver portion of one unit is configured to engage with the attachment portion of another unit to form the glare screen system.

Energy absorbing apparatus

An energy absorbing apparatus is provided and includes an outer shell having opposed ends, left and right side walls and a hollow core. The shell further includes a plurality of longitudinally spaced apart fold points positioned on the left and right side walls at a height which substantially corresponds to a center of gravity of a road vehicle where the fold points facilitate a controlled folding of the side walls and at least part of the shell, at or around, the fold points, during an end on impact.

End treatments and transitions for water-ballasted protection barrier arrays

An end treatment array for crash attenuation includes a transition barrier module formed of side walls, end walls, a top wall, and a bottom wall, wherein the module walls together define an enclosed interior space. The end treatment array further includes a containment impact sled having an axially extending frame. The frame has a width sufficient to contain the transition barrier module within the frame when in an assembled configuration, and has an axial length which is at least one-half the length of the transition barrier module. The frame defines an interior volume, the purpose of which is to contain a substantial portion of the transition barrier module in the assembled configuration, and to contain debris caused by destruction of the plastic barrier modules in a vehicular impact. The containment impact sled is attached to the transition barrier module.

A structural barrier and energy absorbing device comprises a plurality of structural elements. The structural element alone or in a plurality may serve as a traversal impediment or energy absorbing device, such as a pedestrian barrier, vehicular barrier, anti-tank obstacle, ballistic barrier, or the like. The structural element may be a tetrapod such that it comprises an element body having four extension portions that extend outwardly from the interior center to a distal end, such that the structural element maintains an identical orientation and a low center of gravity in each of four resting positions. The structural element may be a solid-state structural element comprised of a particular material or a portable and collapsible structural element wherein the element body comprises an outer skin defining an interior void space, such that during set-up or installation the interior void space may be filled with a filler substance onsite.

ROADWAY SAFETY BARRIER

Road safety barrier comprising: concrete bottom parts (1); concrete top parts (2) coupled on the bottom parts (1), and attaching means (3, 31) of the successive top parts (2) at their opposite ends. The bottom parts (1) have an upper surface provided with a longitudinal channel (11) for coupling in the longitudinal direction and with the possibility of limited vertical displacement of a longitudinal extension (21) protruding from a lower surface of the top parts (2); the channel (11) and the extension (21) have similar cross-sections and dimensions calculated so that the top part performs a lateral rotation of a determined amplitude, in the event of a vehicle impact, and absorbs a significant part of its kinetic energy.

MODULAR DEMOUNTABLE SAFETY PANELS, COMPATIBLE WITH APPLICATION ON CONCRETE BASES OR METAL BARRIERS AT MOTOR RACING CIRCUITS AND THEIR RESPECTIVE ASS EMBLY PROCESS

A new type of demountable modular panel and its respective assembly process, intended for use on motor sports circuits, particularly on urban circuits. It has the advantage of being easily assembled and disassembled, allowing easy access to any point on the circuit. It can be used on metal barriers or on concrete bases fitted with “U” section metal guides at their ends, into which a metal support profile is inserted. Above the base, a fencing panel is placed, with a top section included at 45°. A tubular metal shaft is introduced vertically through metal connectors and tightly clamped in rectangular retention brackets. The attachment of the panel is reinforced by “L” section metal brackets and respective bolts with washers.
