Force-Rated Tie Rod Assembly
A flexing tie rod assembly has a steel cable having a diameter and a length, metal cable ends joined rigidly to opposite ends of the steel cable, the cable ends adapted to join to adaptive tie rod ends, a steel coil spring surrounding the cable for full length of the cable between the metal cable ends, and a polymer casement enclosing the cable and coil spring from metal cable end to opposite metal cable end. The strength characteristics of the cable, the coil spring and the polymer casement result in a compressive force rating below which the tie rod assembly stays straight under linear compression, and above which the tie rod assembly buckles to some degree without relative rotation of the cable ends.
Crash barrier system with different intervals
A crash barrier system includes upper posts, box beams, upper tube profiles and barrier rails. The box beams are connected to the upper posts on a front side of the crash barrier system. The upper tube profiles are connected to the box beams. The barrier rails are fastened to the upper tube profiles. The upper posts are arranged axially parallel to one another at a uniform axial post spacing along the box beams. The upper tube profiles are arranged axially parallel to one another at a uniform axial tube spacing along the box beams. The post spacing differs from the tube spacing.
PROTECTIVE CONSTRUCTION
A protective construction, such as a fence for a race track, may include a device for energy dissipation, e.g., in line with a guy wire. In some examples, the energy dissipation device may have a braking profile and a cutting unit having at least one blade that can be pulled through the braking profile along its longitudinal axis.
Guardrail terminal barrier
A force-absorbing barrier includes a plurality of chambers at least partially filled with fluid. The walls defining the chambers are flexible. Fluid passages in the interior walls between chambers allow fluid flow between the chambers. Alternatively, the chambers are filled with structures instead of or in addition to a fluid. The fluid flow from chamber to chamber and/or the deformation of the structures will absorb energy from the impact a motor vehicle, preventing the vehicle from impacting the terminal of a guardrail.
Guardrail crash absorbing assembly
A guardrail vehicle crash absorbing assembly including a braking structure at a panel joint including a tooth having a cutting portion for making a horizontal cut in a rail panel slidably moving relative to another rail panel.
Safety Trailer
The present invention is directed to differing embodiments of safety trailers, which have first and second platforms and a safety wall positioned therebetween. The platforms and safety wall define an area protected from vehicular incursions.
END TREATMENTS AND TRANSITIONS FOR WATER-BALLASTED PROTECTION BARRIER ARRAYS
An end treatment array for crash attenuation includes a transition barrier module formed of side walls, end walls, a top wall, and a bottom wall, wherein the module walls together define an enclosed interior space. The end treatment array further includes a containment impact sled having an axially extending frame. The frame has a width sufficient to contain the transition barrier module within the frame when in an assembled configuration, and has an axial length which is at least one-half the length of the transition barrier module. The frame defines an interior volume, the purpose of which is to contain a substantial portion of the transition barrier module in the assembled configuration, and to contain debris caused by destruction of the plastic barrier modules in a vehicular impact. The containment impact sled is attached to the transition barrier module.

Guardrail Terminal Barrier
A force-absorbing barrier 10 includes a plurality of concentric chambers 21, 23, 25 and 27 at least partially filled with fluid 42. The walls 22, 24, 26 and 28 defining the chambers are flexible. Fluid passages 30 in the interior walls 24, 26 and 28 between chambers allow fluid flow between the chambers. The fluid flow from chamber to chamber will absorb energy from the impact a motor vehicle, preventing the vehicle from impacting the terminal of a guardrail.
