A nozzle apparatus includes a manifold defining a nozzle cavity within an interior, a fluid inlet passage, a fluid outlet passage, an air outlet passage, and an air inlet passage. A nozzle holder and a nozzle element are selectively pivotable within the nozzle cavity. In the nominal position, the nozzle element inlet is oriented toward the fluid passage inlet and the nozzle element outlet is oriented toward the fluid passage outlet such that the primary fluid flows through the fluid inlet passage and out of the nozzle outlet through the fluid outlet passage. In the cleaning position, the nozzle element inlet is oriented toward the air outlet passage and the nozzle element outlet is oriented toward the air inlet passage such that the flow of air is directed through the air inlet passage, and out of the air outlet passage to direct debris out through the air outlet passage.

A surface cleaner and method of operation are provided wherein the surface cleaner may include a rotatable nozzle assembly with one or more nozzles which may expel water onto a target surface to be cleaned.

An automated road sweeper is provided including transport apparatus suitable to allow the sweeper to travel on a road surface including debris, a plurality of cleaning members arranged at fixed points located in different portions of the sweeper and suitable for cleaning within predetermined cleaning areas, and a selector operatively connected to the cleaning members, suitable for scanning the road surface and locating the debris so as to select and exclusively operate the cleaning members, the cleaning area of which covers the debris during the movement of the sweeper.

The power unit includes a pump. The valve assembly is mounted on the carrier. The valve assembly includes a liquid inlet, a first liquid outlet and a second liquid outlet. The liquid inlet is in communication with an outlet of the pump. The high-pressure water gun is in communication with the first liquid outlet through a pipeline. The floor brush is mounted on a bottom of the carrier. The floor brush includes a nozzle assembly. The nozzle assembly is in communication with the second liquid outlet through a pipeline. The valve assembly is configured to be switchable between at least two of the following positions, include position one and position two.
