Transporter and fish lock
10087907 · 2018-10-02 ·

Transporter and fish lock including an upper inlet and an upper outlet adapted to be in flow communication with an upper volume of water, and a lower outlet and a lower inlet adapted to be in flow communication with a lower volume of water. The upper inlet and the lower outlet communicate via a downstream passage having a first effective through-flow area, and the lower inlet and the upper outlet communicate via an upstream passage having a second effective through-flow area. The downstream passage includes a first helical rotor having a thread-direction that by a flow directed downstream causes the first rotor to rotate around its axis. The upstream passage includes a second helical rotor, wherein the rotors are mutually connected such that the first rotor drives the second rotor in rotation around its axis, and the second rotor has a thread-direction that upon rotation generates a flow directed upstream.

Fish Passage System For Medium And High Head Dams
20240328106 · 2024-10-03 ·

The present invention is a fish passage system for use at dams. It may incorporate one or more reversible pump-turbines for controlling and generating power from downstream flow of water and fish and for pumping water and fish upstream. For low head embodiments the system may use water stored at above headwater elevation in lieu of a reversible pump turbine for moving fish and water from tailwater to headwater.

Autonomous sensor fish to support advanced hydropower development

An improved sensor fish with robust design and enhanced measurement capabilities. This sensor fish contains sensors for acceleration, rotation, magnetic field intensity, pressure, and temperature. A low-power microcontroller collects data from the sensors and stores up to 5 minutes of data on a non-volatile flash memory. A rechargeable battery supplies power to the sensor fish. A recovery system helps locating sensor fish. The package, when ready for use is nearly neutrally buoyant and thus mimics the behavior of an actual fish.

A traveling water screen comprises a basket having a frame including an upper portion, a lower portion, and side portions, a coarse screen secured to the frame, a fine screen overlay attachable to the coarse screen, and a bucket portion secured to a lower portion of the frame, comprising an inner wall surface, and at least one deflector secured to the inner wall surface.

Fish-passing system and a fish-passing method with tourist ornamental function

This disclosure discloses a fish-passing system and a fish-passing method with tourist ornamental function, belonging to the technical field of water conservancy and hydropower ecological protection. The system comprises a dam, a Ferris wheel, a water supplement component, and a central controller (9). The upstream of the dam is equipped with a fish-release chute, and one end of the fish-release chute extends into the water body of the dam reservoir. The downstream of the dam is equipped with a fish passage transfer mechanism, and the fish passage transfer mechanism is connected to the downstream water body of the dam through a fish passage. The Ferris wheel is located between the fish passage transfer mechanism and the fish-release chute, and a number of human-ascending mechanisms (8) are evenly arranged on the Ferris wheel.

Zero-ascend omnispecies (ZAO) prefabricated fish passage attraction system

Zero-ascend omnispecies (ZAO) attraction system includes a fish passage attraction module that can be deployed in a fishway where water flows downstream. The fish passage attraction module includes a body having a first end and an opposite second end, first adaptor adjacent the first end and second adaptor adjacent the second end. The adaptors are configured to alter water flow fields downstream of the module so as to attract fish to an entrance thereof.

PRECAST DAM STRUCTURE WITH FLOWPATH
20170370063 · 2017-12-28 ·

A precast dam structure includes at least two precast segments coupled together via linkages and a flow path structure. The flow path structure defines a flow path having an intake port and a draft port and is associated with at least one of the at least two precast segments. The flow path structure is configured to provide a change in flow direction, either internally or externally, from the at least one of the at least two precast segments.

Energy generating unit

An energy generating unit for generating electric energy from water power is provided. At least one turbine system is installed in a conventional standard container in a channel which rungs in the standard container. The channel is arranged in the flow direction of a surrounding body of water. A fishway is provided on or in the standard container.

Buffering fishway suitable for emergent flood discharge with reduction in damage and buffering method thereof

The present disclosure discloses a buffering fishway suitable for emergent flood discharge with reduction in damage and a buffering method thereof. The buffering fishway includes a fishway body, wherein a migration passage is arranged inside the fishway body, one end of which is rotationally connected with a fixing base, and the other end of which is rotationally connected with a counterweighting floating dock, and a plurality of buffering plates capable of swinging are hinged inside the migration passage, furthermore, the present disclosure also provides a buffering method corresponding to it. The present disclosure effectively reduces the potential energy of the flood and weakens the impact force on the fish. Therefore, the gate dam having this design effectively avoids the fish in the fishway from being fiercely impacted by the flood and easily resulting in damage during discharging flood, having a high protective effect on the fish.
