Oil and aqueous phase separator
Oil and aqueous phase separator device comprising: a basket that comprises a frame having a plurality of supporting arms and fitting means for linking to other phase separator devices; a top lid of the basket; a hydrophobic mesh linked to the basket and supported by the plurality of supporting arms; a plurality of floats linked to the frame of the basket; a housing for an additional float formed on the upper edge of the frame of the basket; and discharging means linked to the basket.
CONTAINMENT UNIT AND METHOD OF USING SAME
The present invention generally relates to containment and control of an oil spill caused by a damaged or broken riser in deep water. More specifically, the present invention relates to a reusable unit that will contain oil spills to a specific location and will also allow oil to be harvested as it flows to the top of the unit while minimizing or even eliminating any environmental clean-up impact or cost. The unit of the present invention is dropped over a damaged or broken riser in a closed position, the unit is released and stabilized in sections until the surface is reached and the containment unit is completely erected.
Recovery of crude oil from a crude oil adsorbent and simultaneous regeneration of the adsorbent
A method of recovering crude oil from crude oil drenched adsorbent and simultaneously regenerating the adsorbent to render it suitable for re-use in crude oil adsorption. The method includes contacting crude oil drenched adsorbent, in the form of solid nanofibrous expanded polystyrene drenched with adsorbed crude oil, with a non-polar solvent, thereby obtaining regenerated crude oil lean adsorbent and crude oil rich solvent.
SEA WATER VACUUMING SYSTEM TO CONTAIN SPILL
Systems and methods for containing a subsea flow of hydrocarbons includes a water intake. The water intake is operable to be positioned downstream of the subsea flow of hydrocarbons. A receiving facility is located at a surface of a sea. A suction hose extends from the water intake to the receiving facility. A suction system is operable to reduce a fluid pressure within the water intake.
A SKIMMING AND SEPARATION DEVICE - CENTRAL ROTATING FLOW
A skimming and separation device comprising an outer casing (1) provided with constructions to directly or indirectly fasten all parts, defining a compartment (2), and a floater (3) configured to create the skimming function of the device, the floater is attached at its lower side to an essentially vertically arranged bellow (4) allowing the floater to adapt flow into a substantially circum volume and allowing the floater to move from an upper position with essentially no flow into the compartment (2) to a lower position allowing flow of water and debris follow the contours of the floater (3) in a downward direction into the device. A power device (8) is provided and includes a propeller to achieve in-flow and outflow of the device. The device further comprises a central tube (c) arranged along a vertical center axis of the compartment and configured to receive said flow of water and debris, and at least one central rotation member being structured to generate a downward directed and central rotating flow of said water and debris within said central tube (c).
ONBOARD OIL CONTAINMENT SYSTEM
An oil containment system aboard a vessel includes a pneumatic system to provide power to a winch and reel assembly containing boom whereby the pneumatic supply is capable of simultaneously powering the winch-reel assembly for boom deployment through inflatable gas fed to a pneumatic motor while also inflating the boom. The inflation of the boom is accomplished by diverting, all or any portion thereof, the inflatable gas from a pneumatic supply through a hose that runs concurrently on the outside of the boom. The pneumatic supply originates from a single pneumatic system powering both the winch and reel assembly as well as associated brake and feeding inflatable gas pressure to the inflation hose running concurrently with the boom. The system can be utilized to confine a discharge of a floating material such as hydrocarbons floating on the surface from a vessel or structure.
TRANSPORTABLE MODULAR SYSTEM FOR EMERGENCY TREATMENT OF WATER POLLUTED BY LIQUID HYDROCARBON SPILLAGE
A transportable modular system for emergency treatment of water polluted by liquid hydrocarbon spillage comprises: at least a first containerized treatment module, comprising a container in the form of a standard size intermodal container which houses a coalescence separator device, configured to operate an oil/water separation; a suction pipe having a first end connected to the coalescence separator device and a second end provided with an inlet connected to at least one floating skimmer; a pump positioned on the suction pipe; a water drain pipe and an oil drain pipe, connected to a water outlet and an oil outlet, respectively, of the coalescence separator device.
Systems for Offshore Environmental Maintenance
Systems, methods, and apparatuses for detecting and collecting fluids released into a body of water are disclosed. Particularly, detection and collection of a fluid released during a petroleum exploration or production operation are disclosed. A released fluid may be detected using sensors on a submersible vehicle (SV) or a plurality of SVs operating in concert. A detected released fluid is collected in storage tanks onboard of the one or more SVs or in an external tank coupled to the one or more SVs.
Toothed conveyor belt type oil recovery device
The present disclosure is directed to providing a toothed conveyor belt type oil recovery device including: a recovery conveyor which is rotates in such a way that a continuous track rotates, the recovery conveyor having multiple teeth made of a hydrophilic material on an outer surface, the recovery conveyor having one side positioned in water in which oil is spilled to recover the oil while feeding the oil into a space between the adjacent teeth by the rotation; and a separation unit which holds an oil separating liquid, and is positioned on the other side of the recovery conveyor to separate the oil from the teeth while the oil separating liquid is fed into the space between the adjacent teeth by capillary suction when the teeth move on to the oil separating liquid on the other side of the recovery conveyor by the rotation of the recovery conveyor.
