Floating oil containment boom
A floating oil containment boom is comprised of boom sections connected end to end. Each boom section is of a tubular member or pipe section. The pipe or tubular member is buoyant, either closed at its ends and/or filled with foam or other buoyant material. Plates extend above and below the tubular member or pipe section for each section of boom. A specially configured connecter joins each boom section to the other, the connecter extending above and below the pipe or tubular member. An elastomeric block forms an interface between connectors on each boom section while simultaneously sealing the area between boom sections to flow of oil.
Device for collecting oil
Provided is a device for collecting oil contained in ice. The device includes a lifting device fixed for example to a vessel, a cage of separation adapted to be lowered into the water between the ice blocks by means of the lifting device and formed by a box which lets water and oil but substantially no ice, and an oil collector for collecting the oil on the water surface in the space defined by the separation of cage.
Oil Spill Recovery Vessel
An oil spill recovery vessel (10) is provided that comprises a catamaran bow section (12) with twin hulls between which an oil skimmer unit (11) is arranged for displacement between a lowered, operating, position in oil-polluted water and a raised, non-operational, position clear of the water. Aft of the catamaran bow section (12) is a trimaran main section (13) made up of a central hull interposed between two outer hulls formed by aft continuations of the twin hulls of the catamaran bow section (12); the three hulls of the trimaran main section have conjoined upper portions. A propulsion unit (53) is operative to move the vessel (10) forward at slow speed for skimming operations, and, with the skimmer unit (11) in its raised position, at a fast speed in which the vessel planes on its trimaran main section (13).
Method and apparatus for collecting surface layer of liquid
A method for collecting a surface layer of a liquid into confined area, method including forming confined area by means of wall structure and moving some of surface layer of liquid into confined area by means of a flow of air directed into confined area through an opening made into wall structure of confined area so that amount of substance in surface layer of the liquid increases in confined area in comparison with surroundings. The bottom edge of opening made into wall structure of confined area is arranged to be below surface level of liquid outside confined area whereas its top edge is substantially above surface level of liquid outside confined area. The surface level of liquid inside confined area is arranged to be kept substantially on same level with surface level of liquid outside by providing a continuous liquid flow connection through lower portion of confined area into surroundings.
MARINE APPARATUS FOR COLLECTING HYDROCARBONS
A marine apparatus includes a self-propelled vessel; a skimmer configured to actively remove hydrocarbons from a water surface when energized and to store the removed hydrocarbons in a retention tank of the skimmer; a holding tank; and a pump configured to pump hydrocarbons removed from the retention tank into the holding tank when energized.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR RECOVERING ON OR MORE CONTAMINANTS FLOATING ON A BODY OF WATER
Apparatus and methods for collecting water and debris from a body of water onto a waterborne vessel include at least one wave dampener and/or at least one gate configured to limit inflow from the body of water into a first cargo compartment on the vessel to water and debris disposed at or near the surface of the body of water.
Oil collector
The invention relates to an oil collector including a brush (3), provided with substantially straight bristles (1) and a horizontal shaft (2), and a cleaning structure in the upper part of the brush for cleaning the brush from oil. According to the invention, the bristles (1) of the brush (3) are substantially parallel to the horizontal shaft (2).
Multipurpose tool for oil spill control, preferably offshore
A multipurpose tool (1) for oil spill control, preferably offshore, comprises a remotely controlled telescopic arm (5) having a first end (6) and a second end (7). The first end (6) is mounted on a vessel (25) and the second end (7) is provided with a quick-release coupling (8) for the fitting of various replaceable nozzles (15) thereto. The various replaceable nozzles (15) are connected to one or more hydraulic tubes (20) and tubes for supplying oil spill control agents and recovering collected oil.
Solar boat for easy collection of spilled oil and garbage
A solar boat for easy collection of spilled oil and garbage of the present disclosure includes a cabin unit, a boat body consisting of a pair of ship bottoms having a structure that is symmetrical left and right and spaced apart below the cabin unit, a solar panel unit provided above the cabin unit and configured to convert solar energy into electrical energy, a collection and transfer unit provided between the pair of ship bottoms, driven by the electric energy supplied from the solar panel unit, and configured to collect spilled oil and garbage into the inside of the boat body, a garbage storage unit, and a spilled oil storage unit, wherein the collection and transfer unit comprises a rotating conveyor belt, and an oil adsorption member and a collection member that are attached to and detached from the conveyor belt, and the solar boat for easy collection of spilled oil and garbage of the present disclosure has an effect of having excellent work efficiency by simultaneously including an oil adsorption member and a collection member that are attached to and detached from a conveyor belt and simultaneously proceeding with collection of spilled oil and collection of garbage on the water, and an effect of being able to separate the spilled oil from the oil adsorption member, the collection member, and the garbage and easily move the spilled oil to the spilled oil storage unit by including a steam spray nozzle configured to spray hot steam at the end of the conveyor belt.
Method and system for oil release management
Method and system is described for enhanced oil release management system by using one or more booms, one or more skimmers and one or more floating burners. The method and system may include skimmers to capture a fluid that is supplied to the floating burner.
