LUBRICATED SOIL MIXING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Described herein are tools, systems and methods for conditioning, strengthening and/or improving in situ soil geotechnical or agricultural properties while at least temporarily reducing soil density, energy requirements and tool wear.
Dry-bulk tanker, conveying system for a dry-bulk tanker, as well as work train
A dry-bulk tanker for the provision of binding agents for soil stabilization for a spreading device comprises a storage container (10) for binding agent. A mechanical conveying device (18) for conveying binding agents from the storage container (10) into an intermediate chamber (20) is connected to the storage container (10). A pneumatic conveying device (36) for conveying the binding agent to the spreading device is connected to the intermediate chamber (20). A pressure relief device (40, 41) is connected to the mechanical conveying device in order to avoid the entry of compressed air into the storage container (10). The invention furthermore relates to a conveying system for a dry-bulk tanker and to a work train for working soils with a self-propelled ground working machine and a dry-bulk tanker.

FOUNDATION TREATMENT METHOD FOR PILING FOUNDATION STRUCTURE BY PENETRATING HARDPAN LAYER
A foundation treatment method for piling a foundation structure by penetrating a hardpan layer, i.e., a Deep Slurry Mixing method, comprising following steps: disturbing, by a mechanical device, a location where the foundation structure is to be piled, so that the mechanical device penetrates the hardpan layer of a natural foundation; then injecting clay slurry into the hardpan layer of the natural foundation by a pumping device, an improved foundation is formed after mixing; and piling the foundation structure. The method can change soil property of the original natural foundation, break the hardpan layer, reduce piling resistance of the steel plate cylinder or similar foundation structure, reduce uneven force during the piling process and improve driveability.
Method for insulating sub-soil
This invention relates to a method for insulating sub-soil comprising mechanically destructuring the sub-soil, injecting an insulating material into the destructured sub-soil, and mixing the sub-soil and the insulating material. The thermal conductivity of the insulating material is strictly lower than the thermal conductivity of the sub-soil.
Cutting Tool Adapter and Method of Underpinning Structures Using Cutting Tool Adapter for Soil Mixing
A cutting tool adapter for creating an underpinning structure and method of creating the underpinning structure are provided. In some examples, the cutting tool adapter may connect a cutting tool to a working machine arm to enable the cutting tool to cut and dislodge soil below an existing foundation or structure. As the soil is cut and dislodged, it is mechanical mixed with an additive, such as a cementitious material, via the cutting tool. The mixed soil and additive may then harden in the area below the existing structure or foundation to create an underpinning structure to provide additional support for the existing structure or foundation.
Jet grouting method, ground improvement body, and ground improvement structure
A jet grouting method is capable of reducing an unnecessary portion (redundant portion) exceeding an effective wall thickness without narrowing a construction pitch, and capable of allowing easy mechanical control. A ground improvement structure including a plurality of ground improvement bodies is constructed through use of the jet grouting method. Each of the ground improvement bodies is constructed so as to have a sectional shape formed by a combination of different kinds of fan shapes having different radiuses. The sectional shape of the ground improvement body is a combination of at least two kinds of fan shapes. One of the kinds of the fan shapes corresponds to a fan shape with a smaller radius, and the other corresponds to a fan shape with a larger radius. The sectional shape of the improvement body has a minimum diameter portion formed of the fan shapes with the smallest radius and a maximum diameter portion formed of the fan shapes with the largest radius. When designing the ground improvement body, a central angle is determined from a fan shape having the smallest radius with respect to the effective wall thickness. When constructing the ground improvement body, a diameter thereof is controlled by stepwisely changing a rotation speed of the injection rod. At that time, a soil breaking achieved by an improving material injected at high pressure is monitored so as to check the diameter of the ground improvement body and the effective thickness thereof.
Chemical polymer deep soil stabilization columns and sand columns
Methods for installing soil and sand stabilization columns using a chemical polymer are provided. The chemical polymer can be a liquid acrylic base chemical polymer or a liquid vinyl acetate base chemical polymer. In the methods, a dilution rate of a chemical polymer is determined based on at least one of: a moisture content of the soil at a selected soil location, a particle size distribution of the soil at the selected soil location, a shear strength of the soil at the selected soil location, a target strength of the soil stabilization column, and a target stiffness of the soil stabilization column. The chemical polymer is then diluted based on the determined dilution rate. The diluted chemical polymer is inserted into a selected soil location and mixed with in-situ soil or with sand to form a stabilization column.
Compositions and methods for the stabilization of clay containing soils
Polysaccharides may be partially oxidized by oxidative opening of a monosaccharide unit while still retaining glycosidic bonds. Such polysaccharides may be further functionalized with an amine moiety at a site of oxidative opening. Polysaccharides that are partially oxidized and amine-functionalized in this manner may be combined with an aqueous liquid to form compositions suitable for stabilizing clays in clay-containing formations. Clay stabilization may promote reduced swelling of the clays in the presence of water.
