Barrier panel connecting clip and method
An apparatus and method for endwise connecting subterranean barrier members is disclosed. The apparatus includes at least two barrier members with each barrier member extending between top and bottom edges. Further, each barrier member has a side first edge having a flange defining a first connector and an opposed second side edge having a channel defining a second connector. The channel is sized and shaped to receive the flange of an adjacent barrier member in slidable interconnection therein. The apparatus further include a first side panel shaped to lie against a first side of the barrier members, a second side panel shaped to lie against a second side of the barrier members and a bridging plate located between the first and second panel members so as to bridge a gap therebetween, wherein the gap has a width corresponding to a width of the first and second barrier members. The associated method is directed toward creating the apparatus.
EARTH RETAINING SYSTEM SUCH AS A SHEET PILE WALL WITH INTEGRAL SOIL ANCHORS
A soil retaining system combining flat sheet pile walls in an open cell configuration includes integral soil anchors providing an improved earth retaining system. Another aspect of the invention is a method of designing and installing a soil retaining system with an open sheet pile cell structure having integral soil anchors. The method includes, inter alia, calculating soil forces by taking into account material strength of sheet pile, soil friction against the sheet pile in combination with the strength of the integral soil anchor, selecting sheet pile size and length based on soil forces calculation; and installation of sheet pile to form a soil retaining system. The integral soil anchors serve to provide higher load resistance to the improved earth retaining system.

Interconnecting members and methods of interconnecting units
Connector plates having improved protrusions with flat surfaces facing lateral forces to increase stability and strength. Top flat surfaces are aligned with the back edge of the plate and bottom flat surfaces are aligned with the front edge of the plate. The connector plates may be used to install or erect a retaining wall, containment system, levy or a similar structure. The connector plates may have spike apertures allowing for the installation of additional spikes to further increase strength and resistance to lateral forces.
