BULKHEAD ASSEMBLY FOR USE WITH A CONCRETE FORM
20180355626 · 2018-12-13 ·

A bulkhead assembly for use with a concrete form and a first reinforcement bar is disclosed. The concrete form may have first and second spaced form sides; and the first reinforcement bar may be disposed between and may extend longitudinally of the spaced form sides. The bulkhead assembly may have a first pair of channel assemblies, each including a channel member and an elastomeric member. The elastomeric member may be positioned longitudinally in the channel member, with a portion of the elastomeric member extending outward transversely from the channel member. The portion may include an outer end that extends longitudinally of the channel member. The channel assemblies may be positioned on opposite sides of the reinforcement bar, with the elastomeric member outer ends facing one another and contacting the reinforcement bar, thereby inhibiting uncured concrete from passing between the channel assemblies when uncured concrete is poured into the concrete form.

A formwork for providing a plinth with concrete frame and with exposed horizontal reinforcing bars, is disclosed. The framework has a base the shape of which in plan view corresponds to the concrete frame. Each side of the base is provided with inner and outer lateral containment walls which extend vertically from the base to make a casting chamber for the concrete. The inner walls have a plurality of openings for the insertion from above of a plurality of longitudinal reinforcing bars. At least one of the outer walls is provided with a plurality of openings for the insertion by transverse sliding of a plurality of transverse reinforcing bars. The openings are provided with inflatable elements which are configured to transition from a deflated configuration, in which the bars can freely slide in the openings, to an inflated configuration, in which the bars are locked in position. The chamber is watertight in order to prevent concrete from coming out during casting.

A system for retaining a flowable and curable building material to form a portion of a foundation includes side walls disposed in a predetermined configuration having a first side wall and a second side wall, and at least one component having an interior cavity disposed in one of the side walls. A bracket assembly includes at least one inwardly bounding reinforcement post and at least one outwardly bounding reinforcement post, a separator bar having a plurality of apertures sized to receive and retain each of the reinforcement posts at locations corresponding to nominal widths of the at least one component. A barrier is disposed between the outwardly bounding and inwardly bounding posts. The component in the side wall is retained in the foundation after the building material cures. The barrier prevents backfill from filling a volume between the outwardly bounding and inwardly bounding posts.
