SEISMIC ISOLATOR AND DAMPING DEVICE
A sliding seismic isolator includes a first plate attached to a building support, and at least one elongate element extending from the first plate. The seismic isolator also includes a second plate. The first and second plates are capable of moving relative to one another along a horizontal plane. The seismic isolator also includes a lower support member attached to the second plate, with a biasing arrangement positioned within the lower support member. The elongate element(s) extend from the first plate at least partially into the lower support member, and movement of the elongate element(s) is influenced or controlled by the biasing arrangement. The seismic isolator also includes a damping structure with closed ends spaced apart from the first plate and the base of the seismic isolator. The damping structure is configured to contain a substance, such as a liquid, gas, silicone, and/or a combination thereof, and to expand longitudinally when it is compressed.
Modular Slab, Slab System, Piles and Methods of Use Thereof
A modular slab, slab system, piles and methods of use thereof are described along with specific applications and methods of manufacture. The slab or slab system may be pre-insulated and pre-finished before being assembled on site. The slab system may be advantageous to use as a replacement for traditional in-situ poured building foundations. The slab system may also have uses in other fields such as for floors, roads, bridges, pavements/side walks and other civil and structural applications.
Earthquake stabilization device
A stabilization system for a building includes a weight assembly configured to be coupled to a floor structure of the building, a seismic sensor configured to provide measurement data relating to a seismic event, and a controller. The weight assembly includes a track defining a track path, a weight slidably coupled to the track, and an actuator coupled to the weight and configured to move the weight along the track path. The controller is operatively coupled to the seismic sensor and the actuator and configured to (a) determine a target response of the weight assembly that mitigates the effect of the seismic event on the building based on the measurement data, and (b) control the actuator to move the weight along the track path according to the target response.
High-rise building settling reinforcing and lifting correcting construction method
A high-rise building settling reinforcing and lifting correcting construction method, comprising: drilling holes vertically downward around a foundation slab of a building, forming multiple curtain wall holes sunk into foundation soil at intervals; injecting slurry into the curtain wall holes, slurry ranges meshing and overlapping with each other, forming a curtain wall, the curtain wall enclosing foundation soil under the foundation slab of the building, separating foundation soil inside and outside the range of the building; providing multiple vertical reinforcement slurry injection holes on the foundation slab and injecting slurry, fully reinforcing soil near the foundation slab, forming a reinforcement body; drilling a hole downward, forming a lifting hole, pressure-injecting slurry into a bottom part of the lifting hole, the foundation soil is continuously filled and compressed, creating a lifting force, and the building gradually rising to a determined lift height.

COMPOSITE SLIDING BLOCK FOR FRICTIONAL-TYPE SEISMIC ISOLATORS AND SEISMIC ISOLATORS WITH SAID COMPOSITE SLIDING BLOCK
A composite sliding block to be arranged between two supporting plates of a frictional-type seismic isolator, with one supporting plate connected to the superstructure to be isolated and the other to the foundations, comprising two contact components that externally are slidingly or articulatedly in contact with said supporting plates, depending on whether the isolator has one or two sliding surfaces, and internally are coupled to each other by means of a male projection of one component in a female recess of the other. An elastomeric seal occupies an empty space surrounding the projection within the recess and, on the external side of the contact component(s) slidingly in contact with the supporting plate(s), a sliding plate is accommodated in a corresponding niche having an elastomeric compression support at the bottom. Frictional pendulum-type isolators with one or two concave sliding surfaces include such a block.
SLIDING SEISMIC ISOLATOR
A sliding seismic isolator includes a first plate attached to a building support, and an elongate element extending from the first plate. The seismic isolator also includes a second plate and a low-friction layer positioned between the first and second plates, the low-friction layer allowing the first and second plates to move freely relative to one another along a horizontal plane. The seismic isolator also includes a lower support member attached to the second plate, with a biasing arrangement, such as at least one spring member or at least one engineered elastomeric element, which can include one or more silicon inserts, positioned within the lower support member. The elongate element extends from the first plate at least partially into the lower support member and movement of the elongate element is influenced or controlled by the biasing arrangement.
