Geotextile-based structure for vegetative growth enhancement and erosion resistance
This application discloses a geotextile-based structure for soil stabilization, erosion control, and vegetation-growth enhancement that is made from a cage having a hollow interior lined with a geotextile fabric designed to retain fine materials, which cage is attached to a geotextile mat capable of supporting vegetation.
Confinement structures
A confinement structure comprises one or more open cells (70) for confinement, in use, of particulate fill materials such as soil, sand or aggregate. The cells (70) comprise walls (72) formed of a composite material comprising a polymeric grid layer laminated to a fabric layer. The walls (72) may be formed from a strip of the composite material comprising one or more living hinges. The cells (70) may be provided with skirt portions (74) that extend from at least some of the walls (72).

BARRIER
The present invention provides a barrier comprising a plurality of individual barrier units in a linear arrangement and a relatively rigid energy transfer means wherein the energy transfer means comprises at least one continuous member extending along the length of the plurality of individual barrier units that is connected to each individual barrier unit in the plurality, such that when a force is applied to one individual barrier unit in the plurality, the energy transfer means transfers part of the energy associated with the applied force to other individual barrier units in the plurality of individual barrier units. Also provided is the use of such a barrier to resist vehicle ramming attacks, a method of deploying such a barrier and a kit containing the components of such a barrier.
Gabions
A single box gabion is disclosed. The gabion comprises interconnected side walls. Each side wall comprises at least one substantially closed side wall element panel that prevents a gabion fill material from falling through the side wall without the aid of a gabion lining material. The single box gabion can be coupled together to form a modular gabion structure to protect military or civilian installations from weapons assault or from elemental forces, such as flood waters, lava flows, avalanches, soil instability, slope erosion and the like.
GABION, NOISE BARRIER WALL COMPRISING SUCH A GABION, AND PROCESS FOR EXECUTING SUCH A GABION
The present invention concerns a gabion (1) comprising: a cage (10) basically box-shaped, made up of a bottom (11), two frontal walls (12, 13) and two side walls (14, 15). That bottom, frontal and side walls are all formed from meshes respectively (11.1, 12.1, 13.1, 14.1, 15.1) that are fixed to each other; two compartmenting partitions (20, 30), that each connect the side walls to one other within the interior of the cage so that the internal volume (V10) of the cage is divided into: two frontal compartments (C1, C2) that are each filled with a filler material (70) made up of aggregate that cannot pass through the respective meshes of the bottom, the frontal or the side walls, nor through the compartmenting partitions in such a way that it is retained within those frontal compartments, and an intermediate compartment (C3), bounded by the compartmenting partitions and which is able to receive a granular acoustic insulation material (2); and at least one lifting partition (50, 60), that fixedly connects the frontal walls (12, 13) to each other within the cage extending through each of the frontal compartments and the intermediate compartment, which, opposite the bottom (11), is provided with at least one grab handle (51, 61), and which, for the part that is set out in the intermediate compartment, is suited to allowing the acoustic insulation material granules (2) to pass through it in such a way that the acoustic insulation material may spread freely, within the intermediate compartment, on either side of the lifting partition.
IMPROVEMENTS IN AND RELATING TO GROUND STABILISATION
A ground stabilisation system, a cell assembly and a kit of parts for such a system, and methods of making and installing such cell assemblies are disclosed. A cell assembly (1701) comprises a rock containment cell having a bottom, first and second sides, first and second ends and a top each formed from chain-link wire mesh, wherein a first continuous sheet of mesh (1710) wraps around and defines the upper, lower and end faces of the cell assembly and is joined end to end by an overlapping join. The first side face is defined by a continuous length of chain-link wire mesh that at least partially wraps around another adjacent face of the cell assembly, and the second side face of the cell assembly is defined by a continuous length of chain-link wire mesh that at least partially wraps around another adjacent face of the cell assembly. The mesh defining the first and second side faces may be a single continuous sheet (1720).
Fence and method of installing a fence
A fence (1) and a method of installing a fence (1) in which the fence (1) has front panels (2), bottom panels (3) and side panels (4), in which the method comprises the burying of the bottom panels (3) such that the bottom panels (3) are located underground and such that part of the front panels (2) and side panels (4) are located underground. The front panels (2) of the installed fence (1) further extend in the same plane and the side panels (4) work as wind bracing.
FLEXIBLE PANEL
A flexible panel includes: a plurality of first blades made of semi-rigid material, of rectangular shape, having a pair of long sides and a pair of short sides; a pair of textile membranes which connect each pair of said first blades along said long sides; each of the plurality of first blades include at least one second blade, of quadrilateral shape, connected in a folding manner to one of the short sides, along a line of contact between one of the plurality of first blades and the at least one second blade; when the panel opens it creates vertical tubular hollow areas laterally delimited by the plurality of first blades and by the one pair of textile membranes which joins them.
Wall block and wall block system
A wall block, wall block system and method of making a wall block. The wall block including at least one core extending from the top surface to the bottom surface, the at least one core having opposed front and rear surfaces and first and second side surfaces the wall block also including at least one pin hole opening onto the top surface of the block and extending at least a portion of the distance from the top surface to the bottom surface. The at least one pin hole may open onto at least a portion of at least one surface of the at least one core. The block may be provided with channels; the pin hole, channels and core may all be formed in a mold box by a single forming member.
