Post support, retaining wall and method
A post support includes a platform portion and an attached post portion. The end of the post portion distal to the platform portion is in a laterally and vertically spaced-apart relation to the platform portion. When the platform portion is buried adjacent to a stack wall with the post portion between the platform portion and the stack wall and with a fence or handrail post attached to the end of the post portion, a lateral load applied to the fence or handrail post is supported by the platform portion without damage to the stack wall.
CONTAINING ELEMENT, STRUCTURE OF REINFORCED GROUND, PROCESS OF MAKING SAID STRUCTURE OF REINFORCED GROUND
A containing element to be used in geotechnical applications, including: a facing body made of a cementitious material having an inner face configured for contacting the ground and an outer face opposite to the inner face with respect to the body itself, a monolithic reticular structure made of plastic material having a plurality of first and second elements intersecting each other at respective nodes in order to form meshes. The reticular structure includes a first portion integrated and stably embedded in the facing body and a second portion, integral with the first portion, emerging from the inner face of the facing body; the second portion of the reticular structure defines, cooperatively with the inner face of the containing body, a closed loop.
MODULAR BLOCK RETAINING WALL CONSTRUCTION SYSTEM WITH SPACER PLATES AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE AND USE
A modular block retaining wall construction system with a plurality of spacer plates securely fastened to a plurality of blocks. At least one arm extends (i) from each of the plurality of spacer plates, and (ii) partially into an aperture in the one of the plurality of modular blocks. Each of the plurality of spacer plates includes a plate that is spaced from the one of the plurality of modular blocks via the at least one arm at a predetermined distance, thereby defining a cavity therebetween. In this manner, the cavity can be filled with a predetermined amount of material, e.g., gravel, to facilitating proper drainage of liquid, e.g., water, from the soil and/or other material retained by the retaining wall of the present inventive concept.
MODULAR BLOCK RETAINING WALL CONSTRUCTION SYSTEM WITH CHANNELS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE AND USE
A modular block retaining wall construction system with a plurality of blocks. Each of the plurality of blocks include (i) a front wall defining a face surface, (ii) a pair of exterior sidewalls extending from the front wall, (iii) an exterior rear wall extending partially between the pair of exterior sidewalls, (iv) an interior rear wall extending partially between the pair of exterior sidewalls and spaced between the front surface and the exterior rear wall, (v) a pair of interior sidewalls extending between the exterior rear wall and the interior rear wall, and (vi) a divider extending from the interior rear wall, extending between the pair of interior sidewalls, and partially defining a plurality of channels. In this manner, each channel can be filled with a predetermined amount of material, e.g., gravel, to facilitating proper drainage of liquid, e.g., water, from the soil and/or other material retained by the retaining wall of the present inventive concept.
END POINT CLOSING WALL FORMING DEVICE OF EXTRUSION TYPE UNDERGROUND DIAPHRAGM WALL AND METHOD FOR OPERATING SAME
An end point closing wall forming device of an extrusion type underground diaphragm wall comprises a main body (1) and a vibration water spraying device. The vibration water spraying device is fixedly disposed inside the main body (1). The end point closing wall forming device of an extrusion type underground diaphragm wall further comprises a separation device. The separation device is movably sheathed on the outer side of a short edge (11) of the main body (1). Also provided is a method for operating an end point closing wall forming device of an extrusion type underground diaphragm wall.
STORM SURGE PROTECTION SYSTEM
A storm surge protection barrier is provided for a shore line bordering a sea that is prone to storm surges. The barrier includes a plurality of individual wall sections each having a plurality of plastic-based structural beams joined by at least one cross structural cross tie. The wall sections each have an above-grade upper portion of a predetermined first length, LAB and a below-grade lower portion of a predetermined second length LBG, and wherein LAB>2LBG. The wall sections are arranged upright and buried in a trench of the shore line in side-by-side succession to form a continuous barrier wall with the below-grade lower portions disposed in the trench and the above-grade upper portions projecting upwardly out of the trench at a predetermined tilt angle away from the sea of between 1 and 10 degrees.
Wall structures with solid-waste fill-material
A barrier-wall structure having a retaining wall with a back support surface supported by backfill adjacent thereto, wherein the backfill is municipal solid waste processed into fill-material in the form of a multiplicity of biologically-inert compacted pieces.
RETAINING WALL SYSTEM, METHOD OF SUPPORTING SAME, AND KIT FOR USE IN CONSTRUCTING SAME
A retaining wall can include wall blocks positioned to retain material against a rear side of the wall blocks. A method for supporting such a retaining wall method includes attaching at least one of the wall blocks to at least one ground-stabilizing base body supporting the wall blocks. The ground-stabilizing base body can include a flexible cable attached to the rear side of at least one of the wall blocks and to a portion extending rearward away from the rear side of at least one of the wall blocks.
Precast integral post and retaining wall and method for installing same
A prefabricated retaining wall structure and method of installing. The structure has a precast concrete face panel and an elongated support column permanently joined to the face panel. The face panel has a top and bottom, opposing end edges and first and second sides with a thickness therebetween. The elongated support column is secured to the face panel between the opposing end edges. The column has first and second ends and an elongated body therebetween and extends along a portion of the first side of the face panel.
Bulwark structure and method
A bund system for the retention of solid or liquid or pourable waste material; bunds of the bund system comprising retaining structures; the retaining structures including at least one vertical structural element relative a base; the base covering a portion of a ground surface; the bunds maintained in a selected position on the ground surface by interaction of the retaining elements with a mass of compacted material. Also disclosed is a method of forming a waste retention area by enclosing the waste retention area by bunds; the bunds comprising at least one substantially vertical retaining structure relative a base extending over a portion of a ground surface; the method including the steps of; positioning retaining structures on the ground surface to form an enclosed area; horizontal base panels of the retaining structures facing inwards to the enclosed area, welding overlap portions of sealing elements at adjacent vertical and horizontal joints between adjoining retaining structures, placing an impervious liner over the ground surface of the enclosed area, welding edges of the impervious liner to edges of sealing elements at inward edges of the horizontal base panels.
