Multi-sensor manhole survey
This invention employs proprietary multi-sensor inspection systems that enable the acquisition of extremely accurate data and comprehensive assessments of maintenance holes and trunk sewers during operation. The invention maps fisheye camera data onto time of flight (TOF) laser data to provide rapid and accurate 3D data and full space angle video imaging of the interiors on manholes and other structures.
METHOD OF REHABILITATING A MANHOLE
The method of repairing a manhole begins with assembling concrete forms above ground to correspond to the shape of the manhole wall. Then, a plastic liner sheet is wrapped around the assembled forms and the seams are welded. The forming sections are then removed, and the liner is placed in the manhole. An annular space exists between the liner and the manhole wall. The forming sections are re-assembled inside the liner. Concrete is then poured into the annular space and allowed to cure. The forming sections are removed, leaving the liner anchored in a new monolithic concrete wall fully engaging the old manhole wall.
System and method for making and applying a non-Portland cement-based material
A system and method for applying a construction material is provided. The method may include mixing blast furnace slag material, geopolymer material, alkali-based powder, and sand at a batching and mixing device to generate a non-Portland cement-based material. The method may also include transporting the non-Portland cement-based material from the mixing device, through a conduit to a nozzle and combining the transported non-Portland cement-based material with liquid at the nozzle to generate a partially liquefied non-Portland cement-based material. The method may further include pneumatically applying the partially liquefied non-Portland cement-based material to a surface.
System for sealing a manhole riser ring assembly
A system and method are disclosed for sealing an annular manhole riser ring assembly. A generally flat, bendable liner includes a flat strip that is generally conformably engageable with an interior circumferential surface of the riser ring assembly. An outer surface of the liner strip carries a plurality of spacer elements that form a void between the generally flat liner strip and the engaged inner circumferential surface of the riser ring assembly. An expandable tensioning device is operated to press the riser ring assembly against the circumferential surface of the riser ring assembly. A flexible bonding substance is introduced into the void and allowed to set to seal the riser ring assembly.
Method for Renovating the Interior of a Hollow Structure
A method for renovating the interior of a hollow structure such as a sewerage pit (1) is described. The method provides an access opening (16) to the hollow structure (1); provides a plurality of material sheets (3) comprising reinforcing fibers and a curable resin composition through the access opening (16) and against a wall (11a, 11b) of the hollow structure (1); and provides an inflatable pressure means (4a, 4b) within the hollow structure (1). The pressure means (4a, 4b) are inflated against the wall (11a, 11b). A curing means (6) is then provided within the hollow structure (1) for curing the resin composition; and the resin composition is cured to harden the material sheets and provide a renovated interior of the hollow structure (1).
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MAKING AND APPLYING A NON-PORTLAND CEMENT-BASED MATERIAL
A system and method for applying a construction material is provided. The system may include a batching and mixing device configured to mix blast furnace slag material, geopolymer material, alkali-based powder, and sand to generate a non-Portland cement-based material, the non-Portland cement-based material including 4% to 45% geopolymer material by weight; greater than 0% to 40% blast furnace slag material by weight, 10% to 45% alkali by weight, 20% to 90% sand by weight, less than 1% sulfate by weight, and/or no more than 5% calcium oxide by weight; a conduit configured to transport the non-Portland cement-based material from the batching and mixing device; and a nozzle configured to receive the non-Portland cement-based material and combine the transported non-Portland cement-based material with liquid to generate a partially liquefied non-Portland cement-based material, wherein the nozzle is further configured to pneumatically apply the partially liquefied non-Portland cement-based material to a surface.
System and Method for Making and Applying a Non-Portland Cement-Based Material
A system and method for applying a construction material is provided. The method may include mixing one or more of 4%-45% volcanic rock by weight, greater than 0%-40% latent hydraulic material by weight, 10%-45% alkaline component by weight, and 20%-90% aggregate by weight to produce a dry binding agent mixture, using a dry mixer; and combining the dry binding agent mixture with water at a nozzle to produce a sprayable concrete compound.
Grooved Sealing Member for Sealing Pipes and Other Underground Structures and Method of Using
An apparatus and method is provided for repairing an underground structure such as a pipe or manhole. The apparatus includes a liner assembly made of resin absorbent material. Some embodiments may further include a bladder assembly to help position the liner and press the liner against the walls of the underground structure. A sealing member is positioned in the underground structure. In some embodiments the sealing member is a separate member made from a compressible material, an absorbent material, or a hydrophilic or hydrophobic material. In other embodiments the sealing member is a portion of the liner assembly. The sealing member includes one or more channels adapted to receive a semi-liquid such as a hydrophilic or hydrophobic paste or grout. The semi-liquid is capable of swelling in response to being exposed to another liquid, such as water, and forms a seal between the liner assembly and the host pipe/manhole.
LINING TUBE FOR RESTORING DEFECTIVE SEWER SHAFTS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING AND INSTALLING SUCH A TUBE
A lining tube for restoring a defective sewer shaft which has a first shaft portion of a first diameter and an adjoining second shaft portion of an larger diameter. The lining tube has inner film tube and a radially expandable layer of fibrous material around the inner film tube and impregnated with a curable reactive resin. The inner film tube has a connecting portion which extends in the longitudinal direction and which connects two mutually parallel circumferential portions of the inner film tube to a circumferentially closed inner film tube. The connecting portion has a predetermined breaking point which extends along the inner film tube and can be separated in the circumferential direction by introducing a pressure medium into the inner film tube, in order to radially expand the inner film tube and the layer of fibrous material beyond their nominal diameter.
