A vertical manhole apparatus for use in a waste facility to provide access to one or more leachate collection pipe access points. The vertical manhole is stabilized using stabilizing features extending out from a vertical pipe of the vertical manhole apparatus.

A removable and replaceable end cap that selectively lockingly engages a seat ring of a filter housing. The end cap may include a flange that compresses a gasket member between the end cap and the seat ring to form a fluid tight seal therebetween. The end cap may include cam locking grooves that may each receive insertion of a protrusion of the seat ring, and which are structured for at least rotational displacement about the received protrusion as the end cap is rotated between locked and unlocked positions relative to the seat ring. The end cap may also include an opening that accommodates the passage of a fluid to a filter element. The filter element, which may be coupled to the end cap, may be adapted to remove particulate or contaminate from the received fluid.

The present specification discloses an anchored hole cover for a bore hole cored from a paved surface that includes a cover plate configured to cover the bore hole and support vehicular traffic. An anchoring mechanism is attached to the cover plate and extends down into the bore hole. The anchoring mechanism is configured to be actuated by a user torque input that is transmitted through a linkage system to cause an anchoring mechanism to selectively engage or disengage the wall of the bore hole. When the anchoring mechanism is engaged with the wall, the anchored hole cover is prevented from being unintentionally extracted from the hole. The anchored hole cover effectively provides a temporary cover for a bore hole in a road, parking lot, or other paved surfaces that supports vehicular traffic, that prevents extraction due to vibrations of passing traffic, thus preventing damage to cars and their occupants.

An apparatus for use with a manhole and a cable, and a method thereof, is provided. The apparatus comprises a frame having an opening and a coupling mechanism for releasably securing the frame about the manhole such that the opening communicates with the manhole. The apparatus also includes a bearing secured to the frame adjacent the opening, the bearing having a surface over which a cable may travel in a manner that reduces wear on the cable when the cable is fed into or drawn through the opening in the hole.

A system including a processor and sensor for installation inside an underground vault. The sensor monitors a parameter inside the vault and sends a monitoring signal to the processor. Based on the monitoring signal, the processor may provide data to a memory for storage and/or control signals to an interface for transmission to an external device located within the vault. The control signals instruct the external device to modify the environment inside the vault. The sensor may be positioned inside an enclosure, which is inside a housing. An air moving device moves air into or out of the enclosure thereby drawing air from the vault into the enclosure before the sensor monitors the parameter. A heat generating component may be positioned inside the housing and when generating heat prevents moisture from condensing therein. The system may include a power unit that draws power from a power source inside the vault.

A sewer manhole cover includes a frame having an access aperture and a cover for covering the access aperture. A primary seal is generated when the cover is placed on the frame either by way of contact between the frame and cover or by way of a gasket received within a groove formed into one of the frame or cover, wherein the gasket is compressed between the frame and cover. A method is provided for generating a secondary seal between the frame and cover by applying an amount of a viscous compound to a circumferential surface of the frame or cover, wherein the secondary seal is formed when the cover compresses the compound when the cover is received within the frame.

A sewer manhole cover includes a frame having an access aperture and a cover for covering the access aperture. A primary seal is generated when the cover is placed on the frame either by way of contact between the frame and cover or by way of a gasket received within a groove formed into one of the frame or cover, wherein the gasket is compressed between the frame and cover. A method is provided for generating a secondary seal between the frame and cover by applying an amount of a viscous compound to a circumferential surface of the frame or cover, wherein the secondary seal is formed when the cover compresses the compound when the cover is received within the frame.

A lift system and method for supporting a structure. The lift system includes a first buoyant sponson tank comprising a sponson tank that extends from a first end to a second end, a mechanical assembly extending from the second end of the sponson tank, the mechanical assembly to transfer a load of a structure disposed on the mechanical assembly to the sponson tank. The sponson tank is configured to be displaced by a volume of fluid that is external to the tank and the tank provides a predetermined buoyant force against the structure to cause the structure to be displaced vertically.

A valve assembly for use with and extending from an underside of a vented manhole cover assembly. The valve assembly is operable between an open position, to enable gas to exit from the manhole, and a closed position, to prevent the flow of the fluid into the manhole. The valve assembly includes a valve body having a first opening and a second opening and a fluid passage extending between the first and second openings. The valve assembly further includes a drain hole extending through the valve body configured to allow fluid drain therethrough. The valve assembly also includes a valve member moveable between the open position and the closed position, such that in response to the fluid entering through the first opening, the valve member moves from the open position to the closed position to prevent the flow of the fluid into the manhole, and wherein in response to fluid draining through the drain hole, the valve member moves from the closed position to the open position.
