SOIL EXTRACTION/GROUTING DEVICE
20230272589 · 2023-08-31 · ·

A method of moving an underground pipeline including the steps of: driving a casing into a soil proximate to the pipeline; deploying a pivoting wand from the casing about a pivoting axis, the pivoting wand having a plurality of cutting nozzles that are coupled to a fluid conduit having a longitudinal extent in the casing relative to a longitudinal axis; pressurizing the fluid conduit to thereby send fluid through the cutting nozzle to soften the soil in a direction in which the wand deploys; rotating the pivoting wand; conducting the softened soil up through the casing to form a cavity in the soil proximate the pipeline, the cavity in the soil having a shape reflective of the movement of the pivoting wand in the rotating step; positioning a lifting device beneath the pipeline. And, lifting the pipeline with the lifting device thereby drawing the pipeline toward or into the cavity.

Roadway access hole cutter having a utility avoidance safety device, method of cutting a hole in a roadway, method of cutting a horizontal hole under a roadway

A method of cutting a microtrench in which the buried utility is exposed by opening an access hole in a roadway above the buried utility using a roadway access hole drill that is controlled by a computer system connected to an under-roadway detection unit that detects a buried utility and stops movement of the drill to avoid damaging the buried utility. Also provided is a method of drilling a substantially horizontal hole under a roadway using a horizontal drill that is controlled by a computer system connected to an under-roadway detection unit that detects a buried utility and stops movement or changes direction of the drill to avoid damaging the buried utility.

Apparatus for installing a land anchor

An apparatus for installing a land anchor of a foundation in an earthen surface includes an articulated arm assembly including a first linear actuator and a drill configured to releasably couple to a helical member, and a control system coupled to the articulated arm assembly and configured to operate the first linear actuator in a free-floating mode configured to maintain an installation angle between the drill and the earthen surface as the helical member is drilled into the earthen surface.

Pipeline laying apparatus and method for crossing steep terrain

A pipeline is assembled traversing steep terrain by digging a trench down an incline, assembling pipe joints together in proximity to the incline, and then using equipment to push and/or pull the assembled pipe joints down the incline and through the trench while the pipeline is suspended above the bottom of the trench. A series of connected sleds are used to partially carry the load of the assembled pipeline, keep it off the bottom of the trench until it is in place, and permit the installation of supports under it prior to backfilling.

A directional drilling apparatus using a water hammer unit according to the present invention includes a hammer body in which a bit unit configured to perform boring work is installed to be movable upward and downward at an end portion of the hammer body, a piston slidably installed on the hammer body and including an operating fluid discharge part formed in a longitudinal direction, a drive unit installed between the hammer body and the piston to support an upper portion of the piston and configured to move the piston upward and downward using water supplied through a rod connected to the hammer body, a hammer unit including a rotary shaft coupled to a bit by a first coupling part so as to transmit a rotational force in a state in which the hammer unit passes through the piston installed on the hammer body and is moved upward or downward by the bit, and a mud motor unit coupled to the hammer body and configured to rotate the rotary shaft.

Cutting Tool Adapter and Method of Underpinning Structures Using Cutting Tool Adapter for Soil Mixing

A cutting tool adapter for creating an underpinning structure and method of creating the underpinning structure are provided. In some examples, the cutting tool adapter may connect a cutting tool to a working machine arm to enable the cutting tool to cut and dislodge soil below an existing foundation or structure. As the soil is cut and dislodged, it is mechanical mixed with an additive, such as a cementitious material, via the cutting tool. The mixed soil and additive may then harden in the area below the existing structure or foundation to create an underpinning structure to provide additional support for the existing structure or foundation.
