Handling system for ground-engaging wear parts secured to earth working equipment

A handling system for handling ground-engaging wear parts used on earth working equipment includes handling tools to remove and handle wear parts from equipment and/or to install new wear parts. The tools can include a torque or other tool to engage and/or disengage a lock retained by the wear member. The handling system allows an operator maintain a distance from heavy parts being removed or installed, reducing the risk of injury.

TOOL HOLDER INSTALLATION DEVICE AND SYSTEM

A tool holder insertion device includes a frame extending from a proximal end to a distal end, the frame including first and second longitudinal arms extending between the distal end and the proximal end. The frame also includes a distal transverse arm connected to respective distal ends of the first and second longitudinal arms, a proximal transverse arm opposite the distal transverse arm, and an internal space extending from the distal transverse arm, the internal space forming an insertion opening. The tool holder insertion device also includes a drive assembly fixed to the frame, the drive assembly including a pushing surface that is movable within the internal space toward the distal end of the frame.

GROUND ENGAGING TOOL MONITORING SYSTEM

The electronic control unit includes a memory including computer executable instructions for recognizing a ground engaging tool; and a processor coupled to the memory and configured to execute the computer executable instructions, the computer executable instructions when executed by the processor cause the processor to: determine a dimension of a ground engaging tool installed on a work tool; compare the determined dimension of the ground engaging tool installed on a work tool to the theoretical dimension of a new ground engaging tool installed on the work tool; and calculate the difference between the determined dimension and the theoretical dimension.

Wear assembly for use on earth working equipment

A wear assembly for excavating equipment which includes a wear member and a base each with upper and lower stabilizing surfaces that are offset and at overlapping depths to reduce the overall depth of the assembly while maintaining high strength and a stable coupling. The nose and socket each includes a generally triangular-shaped front stabilizing end to provide a highly stable front connection between the nose and wear member for both vertical and side loading. The lock is movable between hold and release positions to accommodate replacing of the wear member when needed, and secured to the wear member for shipping and storage purposes.

Adapter board with pry points

An adapter board for use with a blade assembly includes a lower tool bit attachment portion, terminating in a lower adapter board free end, the lower adapter board free end defining a bottom surface defining a plurality of shank receiving bores and a plurality of pry slots. Each one of the plurality of pry slots is disposed adjacent at least one of the plurality of shank receiving bores.

A ground engaging tool assembly includes a ground engaging tip, an adapter, and a wear cap. The ground engaging tip has a ground engaging portion and a coupling portion including an interior surface defining a coupler pocket with an adapter opening and first and second lug openings. The adapter includes a mounting nose with first and second retention lugs extending from sides of the mounting nose along oblique taper angles. The mounting nose is disposed within the coupler pocket of the ground engaging tip with the first and second retention lugs extending into the first and second lug openings, respectively. The base includes a shoulder surface and a retention surface that define a mounting groove therebetween. The wear cap includes a mounting rail that is disposed within the mounting groove of the adapter to mount the wear cap thereto.

A road grading blade teeth removal apparatus operable to provide removal of teeth from a road grader blade. The apparatus of the present invention includes a frame having an upper end and a lower end. The upper end of the frame has a pair of upper spring mounts secured thereto on opposing sides of the frame. The upper spring mounts have springs suspended downward therefrom and are operably coupled to a pair of lower spring mounts that are axially aligned with each of the upper springs mounts on opposing sides of the frame. A center force plate is secured intermediate the lower spring mounts and has a movement member superposed thereon. The movement member is further operably coupled to a cross member proximate the top of the frame and is configured to leverage thereagainst to move the center force plate downward. A pin assembly is located underneath the mounting plate.

SYSTEM AND PROCESS FOR CONDUCTING IN-FIELD OPERATIONS

A handling apparatus for conducting in-field operations such as removing and/or installing wear parts on earth working equipment along a controlled path. The apparatus can include a crane, a joint having three axes of articulation and a tool.

Wearing-part system
