ACTUATED BACKFLOW PREVENTER AND FLUID CONTROL APPARATUS

The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods useful for backflow prevention system that includes an actuated valve, a valve controller, one or more upstream sensors, and one or more downstream sensors. Upon detecting conditions conducive to backflow through the system using either or both the one or more upstream sensors, and the one or more downstream sensors, the valve controller causes the actuated valve to close. The system may be enhanced through the use of a qualifying check valve disposed between the actuated valve and the one or more downstream sensors to slow or impede backflow through the system. The system may be enhanced by inclusion of a run-out length between the actuated valve and the one or more downstream sensors to account for the latency in the actuator causing the valve to transition to the CLOSED position.

BACKFLOW PREVENTION APPARATUS AND METHOD
20220112697 · 2022-04-14 ·

A backflow prevention system and apparatus is disclosed. The system includes a pipe designed to couple to a washer. The backflow prevention apparatus includes a housing and two one-way valves. The housing secured to the pipe. A first one-way valve is coupled to the housing, with the first one-way valve defining a first cross-slit. A second one-way valve is coupled to the housing and spaced from the first one-way valve, with the second one-way valve defining a second cross-slit. The first one-way valve and the second one-way valve are designed to allow fluid flow, through the housing, in a first direction and prevent flow of suds, foam, gas, or combinations thereof in a second direction opposite the first direction.

Sewage backflow preventing valve

A sewage backflow prevention device is installed in a gravity flow waste pipe, particularly for a residence or residences. The device includes a cylindrical body with a closed top, outflow holes in the sides, and an open bottom to be secured to the upper end of a Tee in the gravity flow sewage pipe, between the residence and the sewer. Within the cylindrical body is a hollow, floatable disk or float ball that normally closes the bottom of the backflow device preventing escape of gases. When a downstream blockage occurs, liquid rises into the device, floats the closure disk or ball upward and flows outwardly through the openings. At valve closure position the valve closure disc or ball is mostly below the outflow holes such that rats or other rodents cannot push under and lift the ball or disc.

WATERLESS FLOOR DRAIN TRAP VALVE
20220081883 · 2022-03-17 ·

A Waterless Floor Drain Trap Valve is provided as a drain line backup to withstand the pressure from water/sewage reversing direction and flowing into the occupied space of the building. The Waterless Floor Drain Trap Valve comprises an inlet end with a recessed opening comprising a grate (or disk) to direct water flow, wherein the edge along the top surface of the grate (or disk) is flushed with the top surface of the inlet end, a top cover, an opposite outlet end with a bottom cover and an expandable outer seal positioned between the top and bottom cover, a fastener positioned proximate to the top cover, a threaded rod connected to a backflow preventer plate, a backflow plate spring along with a backflow preventer seal in connection with the bottom cover. During usage, as the nut on the top of the Valve is tightened, the expandable outer seal forms a plurality of seal points within the inside diameter of the floor drainpipe while almost simultaneously the bottom cover travels in an upward direction further compressing the expandable outer seal and providing robust sealing to prevent backflow into the living space. The Waterless Floor Drain Trap Valve is further configured to connect remotely to various diagnostic devices, mobile platforms and applications for real-time monitoring of the valve performance. The smart Valve comprises a first sensor and a second sensor disposed within the Valve and configured to deliver an improved backflow management system for consumers.

Backflow prevention assembly having a cartridge with dual zone testing
11835147 · 2023-12-05 · ·

A backflow prevention assembly includes a body forming two buckets, wherein flow passes through the body from an inlet to an outlet along an axis and consecutively through each of the buckets. A single zone test cover encloses a first of the buckets to form a single zone chamber. A dual zone test cover encloses a second of the buckets with a dual zone cartridge assembly therein. The dual zone test cover has two test cocks. The dual zone cartridge assembly includes a frame having a valve seat, wherein the frame includes a lumen providing fluid communication from a dual zone chamber upstream of the valve seat to a first of the two test cocks of the dual zone test cover, and wherein the second of the two test cocks of the dual zone test cover is in fluid communication with the dual zone chamber downstream of the valve seat.

WATERTIGHT CHECK VALVE

A check valve includes a valve body defining a valve bore extending from a first axial end to a second axial end, the valve body including an annular body and a cross member secured to and extending across the valve bore from the annular body on one side of the valve body to the annular body on an opposite side of the valve body, the valve bore at the cross member divided into more than one portion by the cross member; a position block extending from the cross member; a valve member positioned within the valve body and configured to rotate between an open position and a closed position; and a pivot pin extending from the valve member, engaged with the position block, and fixed with respect to the valve member; the valve member and the pivot pin configured to rotate together between the open position and the closed position.

Methods and systems of providing domestic water service to a commercial/residential building via a water booster pump assembly are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the water booster pump assembly includes first and second water pipe branch circuits. In some embodiments, each water pipe branch circuit is configured with a backflow preventer and the water pipe branch circuits are fluidly coupled to one another in parallel. In some embodiments, the water pipe branch circuits are further coupled to one another via a crossover branch pipe configured to allow continuous flow through the two backflow preventers. Each water pipe branch circuit may include a pump. The crossover branch allows water to flow through both backflow preventers, even when one pump is inoperative.
