According to one embodiment, a wet-area device includes a main part, a first layer, and a second layer. The first layer is provided on an outer surface of the main part. The second layer is provided on an outer surface of the first layer. A hardness of the second layer is greater than a hardness of the first layer. The first layer includes a first unevenness at a side of the outer surface of the first layer. The first unevenness includes a plurality of recesses and a plurality of protrusions. The second layer includes a second unevenness at a side of an outer surface of the second layer. The second unevenness includes a plurality of recesses and a plurality of protrusions. The second unevenness is arranged along the first unevenness. An average height of the first unevenness is less than an average length of the first unevenness.

WASH STAND

A wash stand comprising a wash basin having a drain opening which opens into a drain chamber. In the drain opening there is a cover which extends over part of the drain opening such that, at least in a lower region of the drain opening, a gap is created through which water can flow out of the wash basin into the drain chamber. In the drain chamber there is at least one mounting point on which the cover is supported removably by the at least one mounting point. The cover in the at least one mounting point is mounted pivotably about at least one pivot axis such that the cover can be pivoted from a use position into an intermediate position in which the cover can easily be grasped by a user. From its intermediate position, the cover can be removed from the mounting point out of the drain opening.

The bottom surface of the basin includes a substantially horizontally extending projection formed integrally with the bottom surface of the basin. The horizontally extending projection is disposed over the drain opening such that the drain opening is at least partially obscured from a view of a user.

The two-layer vanity unit includes: a cabinet; an upper vanity unit disposed on a top of the cabinet and exposed to the outside; a lower vanity unit disposed inside the cabinet so that it is selectively put into the cabinet when not in use and withdrawn from the cabinet when in use; drain pipes connected to the upper and lower vanity units; and cold and hot water pipes connected to the upper vanity unit. Control is performed to adjust one or more of water supply and water cutoff for the upper or lower vanity unit and an amount and temperature of the available water according to an operation mode of the lever of the faucet provided on the upper or lower vanity unit, thereby controlling a type of supply of available water.

An insert element (7) has a drain connection piece (8) for connection to a wastewater pipe on the building side, wherein the insert element (7) is connected to the wash stand (2) such that the inner chamber (5) is sealed watertight and the water can be fed from the drain opening (4) to the drain connection piece (8).
