Appliance with shim compatible geometry
An apparatus and method for easily and permanently leveling an appliance is described. The apparatus involves a modification to the appliance to support shims, and preferably the two-part adjustable leveling shims. Alternatively, a template for affixing two-part adjustable leveling shims is used between the appliance and the mounting surface.
SELF-SEALING CLOSET FLANGE
A closet flange system with attached bolts on the anterior surface and a beveled edge on the posterior surface, a groove on the anterior surface fhr an O-ring to form a seal between the bottom of the toilet and the anterior edge of the closet flange. The anterior surface is connected to a midsection of the closet flange, which includes a keeper ring, securing the position of the closet flange within a drain pipe by preventing removal. An additional O-ring may be positioned on the midsection to block fluid and gas from the drain from rising to contact the keeper ring or escaping outside of the drain pipe. The beveled edge guides the end of the flange into the drain pipe. The system includes bolts which attach the closet flange to the bottom of the toilet before the system is attached to the drain pipe at the floor surface.

TOILET FASTENING ASSEMBLY AND METHOD
A toilet fastening assembly includes a fastener, a washer, and a cap. The fastener includes a base at a proximal end, a support extending from the base, and a threaded shaft extending from the support to a distal end. The base includes two flat surfaces interconnecting two curved surfaces. The support includes two flat surfaces interconnecting two tapered surfaces. The support's flat surfaces are aligned with the base's flat surfaces. The threaded shaft includes two distal tapered surfaces that are positioned perpendicular to the base's flat surfaces and the support's flat surfaces. The cap includes an outer wall defining an inner cavity and an inner cylindrical wall disposed within the inner cavity. The inner cylindrical wall's threaded inner surface receives the threaded shaft of the fastener. The inner cylindrical wall's proximal end is recessed relative to the outer wall's proximal end.

LEAK DETECTION DEVICE
A leak detection device that detects leaks of an electrically conductive substantive between any installed device and any mounting surface upon which the installed device has been placed such that the leak detection device is disposed between the installed device and the mounting surface such that when the conductive substance completes an electrical circuit between a first detection conductor and a second detection conductor disposed on the substrate a circuit is completed to allow a leak detection alarm signal to be operatively communicated to an alarm generating device.

Detection plate and kit
A water leak detection plate is placed between the toilet flange plate attached to a subfloor and a toilet base with a wax seal disposed between them. The detection plate includes a circular disc body with a wastewater hole axially aligned with the wastewater hole formed on the toilet flange plate. Surrounding the wastewater hole is an outer flange area with a perimeter edge. Formed on the outer flange area are two bolt holes aligned with two bolts attached to the toilet flange plate used to attach the toilet base to the toilet flange plate. Formed or attached to the disc body's perimeter edge is a continuous, upward extending gutter configured to collect water leaking from the wax seal or the toilet base. Also formed on the bottom surface of the disc body is an upward extending recessed cavity in which the toilet flange plate rests. The detection plate may be used with an external water detection device placed in the gutter.
