Soil matrix water table control apparatus
An improved vegetated buffer water retention system. The current invention can be utilized for both smaller scaled (e.g., residential) purposes or larger scaled (e.g., agricultural, municipal, industrial) purposes. In certain embodiments, the system generally includes a perforated drainage pipe and an overflow controller (e.g., T-shaped member, arched overflow valve apparatus) in open communication with each other. These components allow the system to control the soil matrix water table. With additional valves, pumps, and water reservoirs, the system can control both the soil matrix water table and stored water reuse. The systems can be used not only to enhance plant root uptake and microbial utilization of nutrients and pollutants in water, but also to capture and reuse water inflows, thereby aiding in water conservation and preventing soil erosion.
Stormwater skimmer surface drain apparatus
A drainage device is provided. The device includes a novel floating surface drain or skimmer to manage draining of liquid, such as draining of water from stormwater impoundment ponds or structures.
Chain filter system of micro wetland cells and method of forming same
A chain filter system established generally across a slope such as an agricultural field, residential area, reclamation site, industrial area, or municipal park, etc. The system comprises a series of basins oriented such that their upstream borders are aligned to capture variously directed stormwater runoff from the drainage area. Along each basin border opposite to the upstream border is extended a generally continuous berm to direct and contain stormwater movement, so as to avoid loss of runoff from and around the basins. The berm may include gates or scuppers for controlled release of captured stormwater runoff. This chain filter system serves to capture runoff for purposes of reducing pollution movement into state waters, flood control, creating wildlife habitats, enhancing aquifer levels in rural and urban settings, and avoiding downstream pollution.
Flood Control System
A flood control system for remotely and automatically controlling flooding and water storage on reservoirs. The flood control system generally includes a central computer that controls the water level by controlling or communicating with flow control gates positioned near a number of culverts, wherein each flow control gate typically includes: (a) a control unit communicatively coupled to the central computer, the control unit capable of sending local condition data to the central computer via a wireless connection and further capable of receiving control commands from the central computer; (b) an input/output interface capable of receiving signals or data regarding physical conditions proximate the flow control gate, the input/output interface coupled to the control unit; and (c) a water shutoff valve controllable by the control unit and positioned to selectively allow or block the flow of water through each culvert, wherein each control unit controls each water shutoff valve.
Stormwater Skimmer Surface Drain Apparatus
A drainage device is provided. The device includes a novel floating surface drain or skimmer to manage draining of liquid, such as draining of water from stormwater impoundment ponds or structures.
FLUID REMOVAL DEVICE
An apparatus that may include base section further comprising one or more tubulars and a siphon formed from the one or more tubulars. The apparatus may further include a swivel section fluidly connected to the base section and further comprising an orifice plate and a floating section fluidly connected to the swivel section in which a fluid may enter.
