DRAIN CLEANER
A drain cleaner includes a shroud with a closed end and an open end opposite the closed end and a drum assembly positioned within the shroud. The drum assembly is rotatable relative to the shroud. The drum assembly includes an inner drum and a drum cover extending entirely over an open forward end of the inner drum. The drain cleaner also includes a flexible cable stored within a cavity defined by the inner drum and the drum cover of the drum assembly. The flexible cable is supported by the inner drum. The drain cleaner further includes a handle assembly coupled to and extending rearwardly from the shroud. The handle assembly includes a motor, a grip, and an actuator to selectively energize the motor. The actuator is positioned in an area defined between the grip and the shroud.
Drain cleaning cable
A drain cleaning cable for use with a drain cleaner. The drain cleaning cable includes an inner core having a first end and a second end, and an outer wire concentrically surrounding the inner core, where the outer wire is helically wound in a first direction to form a plurality of consecutive coils, and where the outer wire has a first end and a second end. A first connector engages with the first end of the inner core and the first end of the outer wire, where the first connector is configured to attach the drain cleaning cable to a drain cleaning element. The second end of the inner core and the second end of the outer wire are received within the drain cleaner.
Motor dampener and drive train for plumbing tools
Motor dampening provisions are described. Incorporation and use of the motor dampener(s) in a rotary type drain cleaning machine enables elimination of a clutch in the machine. Also described are clutch-free drive systems using the motor dampener(s). Also described are torque countering members that are used in conjunction with the motor dampener(s).
IMPROVEMENTS TO A DRAIN ROD SYSTEM
The invention relates to a drain rod system which is formed of a plurality of elongate members which can be selectively engaged end to end to be in an in-use position and disengaged to be in a storage position. The engagement is achieved by the provision of first and second engagement means at respective ends of at least some of the said elongate members and the first engagement means of a first elongate member and a second engagement means of a second elongate member can be moved linearly with respect to each other when engaging and disengaging with any relative rotational movement substantially prevented.
PIPE CLEANER ASSEMBLY
In one aspect there is disclosed a pipe cleaner assembly (10) operatively adapted to be located within a pipe obstructed with plant material. The pipe cleaner assembly (10) includes a cutting head (12) longitudinally extending about a cutting head axis (16) between a driving end (18) and a cutting end (20). The cutting head (12) defines a driving element slot (22) operatively adapted to hold an elongate driving element. The pipe cleaner assembly (10) further includes a cutting formation (14) operatively secured to the cutting head (12). The cutting formation (14) outwardly extends from the cutting end (18) of the cutting head (12) so that in use torque applied to the cutting head (12) by the driving element causes the cutting head (12) and as a result the cutting formation (14) to rotate about the cutting head axis (16) to cut plant material within the pipe.
DRAIN CLEANER CABLE DECOUPLER TOOL
A cable decoupler tool configured to uncouple a drain cleaner cable coupling. The cable decoupler tool includes a mouth configured to receive a circumferential portion of a cable, a pin key extending from the mouth, and an actuator movable relative to the mouth to uncouple the drain cleaner cable coupling.
DRAIN CLEANER
A drain cleaner assembly including a base unit having a housing, a first portion of a drive arrangement supported by the housing, and a motor coupled to the drive arrangement, where the motor is operable to selectively drive the drive arrangement. A drum unit is removably coupled to the base unit. The drum unit includes a rotatable drum, a cable stored within the drum and selectively extendable out of the drum and into a drain, and a second portion of the drive arrangement, where the second portion of the drive arrangement includes a driven shaft extending along an axis of rotation of the rotatable drum, where the driven shaft is rotatably fixed to the rotatable drum, and wherein the first portion of the drive arrangement is configured to drive the driven shaft and the rotatable drum when the drum unit is coupled to the base unit.
CLOSET AUGER
A closet auger includes an elongated casing member extending along an axis, a cable drum rotatably coupled to the elongated casing member, a drive coupling connected to the cable drum to rotate the cable drum about the axis, and a flexible cable having a first length stored within the cable drum and a second length extending through the casing member and out from the casing member. The closet auger also includes a feed assembly having a handle movable along the casing member and a plurality of gripping members carried by the handle. Each gripping member has a first end pivotally coupled to the handle and a second end biased radially outward from the handle. The plurality of gripping members is circumferentially spaced about the axis and operable to selectively engage the flexible cable to push the flexible cable into or pull the flexible cable out of the cable drum.
SEWER CLEANING MACHINE
A sewer cleaning machine including a rotatable drum, a cable positioned at least partially within the drum, the cable configured to be extended from and retracted into the drum along a cable axis, a motor coupled to the drum, the motor operable to rotate the drum, and a cable feed mechanism including a plurality of bearings arranged concentrically around the cable, the plurality of bearings configured to selectively engage the cable to feed the cable in a first linear direction along the cable axis, a cam ring including a plurality of cam surfaces, each of the plurality of cam surfaces engageable with a corresponding one of the plurality of bearings, and a handle configured to rotate the cam ring about the cable axis to move the plurality of cam surfaces into engagement with the first plurality of bearings.
Drain cleaner
A drain cleaner assembly including a base unit including a housing, a drive arrangement positioned within the housing, and a motor coupled to the drive arrangement and supported by the housing, the motor operable to selectively drive the drive arrangement, and a drum unit removably coupled to the base unit. The drum unit includes a drum that engages the drive arrangement when the drum unit is coupled to the base unit to rotate the drum, a cable stored within the drum and selectively extendable out of the drum and into a drain, and an outer casing at least partially surrounding the drum, wherein the drum is rotatable within the outer casing, wherein the drive arrangement includes a coupling arrangement between the motor and the drum, the drive arrangement extending through the outer casing.
