A prefabricated construction element for use in construction of multi-storey buildings. The construction element is a mass timber exterior wall panel, integrating building assemblies such as windows, exterior wall finishes, and connectors to other building components. The construction element comprises: an envelope subpanel; a feature element such as a window or door; an insulation layer; and a cladding layer, wherein the envelope subpanel comprises an upper beam along its top edge and a lower beam along its bottom edge, and a plurality of spacers disposed between the upper beam and the lower beam, defining one or more openings for receiving the feature element; wherein the insulation layer is attached to the envelope subpanel and provided with one or more openings corresponding to the feature element; wherein the cladding layer overlies the insulation layer and is attached thereto.

Foam wall structures with high shear strength and methods for the manufacture thereof

Wall structures and methods of manufacturing wall structures are described. The wall structures include a frame, a foam panel attached to the frame, a brace disposed in a cavity defined by the frame, and a foam layer. The wall structures can impart a high wall racking strength and good thermal performance through the combination of the foam layer, brace, and the foam panels.

Engineered Timber Panel For Structural Use And Method Of Formation Thereof

A method of manufacturing a structural panel for building construction, comprising: subjecting timber feedstock to machine stress grading wherein individual timber sticks that satisfy the grading criteria are allocated a stress grade for structural use; selecting from the timber sticks that fail to satisfy the machine stress grading standard criteria, laminas for forming a panel; arranging the selected timber laminas, without regard to visual defects, in side-by-side parallel formation; and fabricating a structural panel wherein the selected timber laminas are arranged side-by-side parallel to one another with adhesive applied between each adjacent stick incorporated into the panel.

A wall lifting assembly includes a bracket which includes a lateral portion forming a right angle with a lower portion and forming a right angle with an upper portion. The lower portion is spaced from the upper portion to define a wall space for insertably receiving a top plate of a framed exterior wall. The bracket has an attachment point integrated and a lifting line can engage the attachment point. In this way the framed exterior wall can be lifted with the lifting line when the bracket is positioned on the framed exterior wall. A plurality of nuts is each of the nuts is coupled to the upper portion of the bracket. A plurality of bolts is each threadable through a respective one of the nuts when the top plate is positioned in the wall space to inhibit the top plate from sliding out of the wall space when the bracket is lifted.
