A method for producing full spectrum hemp extract comprising extracting substances from cannabis-based green material that are soluble in an extraction solvent and collecting an extract that includes the extraction solvent distilling at least a portion of the extraction solvent which results in a concentrate that is not distilled off, removing at least a portion of water soluble substances from the concentrate by partitioning the at least a portion of water soluble substances into an aqueous phase and a remainder of substances from the concentrate into a partitioned concentrate, heating the partitioned concentrate to evaporate the nonpolar solvent and to yield a crude oil, degassing the crude oil by heating it which results in a degassed crude oil, performing a first pass distillation at about 150 C. and collecting a first residue, performing a second and third pass distillation at about 170 C. and about 185 C., and collecting a distillate from same.
Apparatus for preparation of pharmacologically-relevant compounds from botanical sources
In a system and process for selectively purifying various pharmacologically-relevant components of a source plant such as cannabis, an initial step provides a low-temperature, robust essential oil/terpene capture that also dehydrates and decarboxylates the starting productfresh raw cannabisby means of a vacuum-assisted microwave distillation process. By doing the terpene capture under vacuum distillation temperature may be kept low. The low distillation temperature maximizes yields of thermally-sensitive components such as terpenes and cannabinoids. Heated press utilizing a pivoting actuating truss for extraction of oils
A heat press for extracting fluid, such as oil, from a biological plant. A lower heat platen is fixedly attached to a main frame and an upper heat platen is retractably positioned opposite to the lower heat platen. A pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder or a manual or electronic linear actuator provides pressure to an actuation means that is operatively connected to the upper heat platen for initiating movement. A control mechanism that consists of a single pressure regulator system or a dual pressure regulator system is used to control pressure of a pressing operation of the heat press. Alternatively, a digital regulator system can be used to control pressure, time, and temperature of a pressing operation of the heat press. At least one of the upper and lower heat platens has embedded heating elements and an isolated thermocouple. Selected terpenes and cannabinoids are then recombined in predetermined proportions to achieve extracts of unusual purity and having targeted therapeutic profiles.
