A topical formulation and method of using the formulation on animals including dogs is disclosed. The formulation is used to facilitate the healing of cuts, scrapes, abrasions, and other conditions often experienced by animals. A main ingredient of the formulation is sulfur in a high concentration.

An apparatus and system for extracting essential oil from plant material, and in particular, cannabis plant material, is described. The apparatus has top and bottom rollers that apply heat and pressure to the plant material as the plant material passes through the rollers for the extraction of essential oil. The top and bottom rollers are powered by a hand crank or motor, and the top and bottom rollers are heated by heaters regulated by a temperature controller. Also described is a method that uses a combination of heat, pressure, and speed for efficient extraction of high quality essential oil from plant material, and in particular, cannabis plant material.

A homogeneous composition of an essential oil and essence water is provided. The essential oil may be derived from the plant matter through an extraction process, such as steam-based distillation. The essence water may be a byproduct of the extraction of the essential oil from plant matter. Plant material is contacted with an aqueous alkaline solution containing a hydroxide base and essentially no organic solvents, thereby extracting cannabinoids including carboxylic acids and salts and producing an alkaline extract. Non-soluble plant material is removed from the alkaline extract to produce a clarified alkaline extract. The extracted cannabinoids are decarboxylated and the decarboxylated cannabinoids are crystallized/precipitated from the clarified alkaline extract at a pH greater than 7.
