Laminated bamboo platform and concrete composite slab system

The present technology relates generally to a platform and concrete composite slab system used as a building material. A platform, is formed from joined, substantially coplanar boards with connector plates partially embedded between the boards such that a portion of the connector plates extend above the platform's top surface. A reinforcing material (e.g., wire mesh and/or rebar) can be arranged on the prongs or other portion of the connector plates spaced above the platform and concrete is poured over the reinforcing material and allowed to cure, forming a reinforced concrete layer that encases the connector plates and reinforcing material. The connector plates act as standoffs and help to suspend the reinforcing material in the middle of the concrete layer to increase the strength of the reinforced concrete and to fixedly anchor and bind the concrete layer to the platform, so as to establish a composite action between the platform and the concrete.

Each of the exterior member, interior member, cross-members can be formed from a multi-layered stack of polymeric material made by a layered three-dimensional printing process, and all can be monolithically integrated. An exterior surface region of the exterior member can have an integrally formed surface finish. Overlying finishing or connective layers can be added. The exterior and interior members can be configured in a parallel arrangement to form a rectangular or curve shaped building block. A fill material can be disposed into openings between the exterior and interior members, and an interior surface region at the interior member can include a cavity configured for an electrical box, plumbing, or a sensing device.

In some aspects, a composite building panel may include: a core defining a channel formed via subtractive manufacturing; a utility conduit placed or formed in and bonded to the channel and enclosed by the core, where the utility conduit exits the core along a first mating edge of the core; and first and second skin elements bonded to the core to form a layered structure. In some cases, the layered structure may also include a reinforced block coupled to at least the first fiber-reinforced skin element and defining part of the first mating edge, where the reinforced block defines a first portion of the first mating edge for mating with another composite building panel of the panelized structure.

A green or sustainable building infrastructure comprising conjoining modular building segments. The purpose of the invention is to increase the precision, quality, and timing of building projects by allowing modular building segments to be constructed in an off-site controlled environment, transported, and quickly assembled on site. The conjoining modular building segments are prismatic box-like structures conjoined in a variety of configurations, each having at least three walls. The prismatic box-like structures are arranged and attached horizontally to create ceilings and floors, and they are arranged and attached vertically to create walls for the infrastructure. Some of the walls may be removed and the space inside each prismatic box-like structure is available for storage. The prismatic box-like structures may have certain dimensions, comprise specific materials, or be constructed or conjoined in specific ways.

A veneer tie for connecting together an outer wall and an inner wall spaced-apart from the outer wall and defining a cavity therebetween. The veneer tie includes a screw anchor, including an elongate shaft for penetrating into the inner wall, a head formed on one end of the screw anchor and an opening formed in the head. A pintle adapted for engaging and being carried by the head of the screw anchor is provided, and extends outwardly from the head and bridges the cavity between the outer wall and the inner wall. The pintle has at least one hook for extending through the opening formed in the head for connecting the pintle to the screw anchor.
