Traditional Chinese medicine composition for treating cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease, preparation method therefor and use thereof
A traditional Chinese medicine composition for treating cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease, the active ingredients thereof being composed of: 1) an ethanol extract of 6-12 parts of Ligusticum wallichii and 5-10 parts of Curcumae Radix, and 2) an aqueous extract of extract residue of the described Ligusticum wallichii and Curcumae Radix and 5-10 parts of Radix Cyathulae; the traditional Chinese medicine composition may further comprise an aqueous extract of 5-10 parts of Allium macrostemon and 6-12 parts of Eucommia ulmoides. The traditional Chinese medicine composition relates to medicine made from plant compounds, and has significant medicinal effects on myocardial contraction disorder and myocardial dilation disorder, platelet aggregation thrombosis and myocardial ischemia, myocardial hypoxia, myocardial fatigue, and so on, being particularly suitable for treating coronary heart disease and chronic or acute heart failure.
OKRA AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR CERVICAL MUCUS
Artificial cervical fluid is disclosed that contains a mucilaginous extract from the okra plant. The mucilaginous extract can be produced using a hot aqueous extractant or cold extraction process followed by separation of larger particles from the extract. The extract finds many uses, for example as a sperm storage medium, a sperm freezing medium, a sexual lubricant, an artificial insemination medium, and an in vitro fertilization medium.
HIGH YIELD EXTRACTION METHOD FOR AND PRODUCTS OF RHODIOLA PLANTS
A method of extracting a Rhodiola plant comprising the steps of harvesting and drying the plant; extracting the alkaloids from the plant in a solvent; filtering the solvent-Rhodiola plant mixture to remove the solvent and extracted alkaloids from a spent plant matter; drying the spent plant matter; purifying and separating the extracted alkaloids from the solvent; and mixing the purified alkaloids back into the dried spent plant matter. Also, products of the method include vaporizing liquids, medicinal compositions, kief compositions, rolling papers, and filters for tobacco and vaporizing equipment comprising the mixture of the purified alkaloids and the dried spent plant matter produced according to the method. Further disclosed is a Rhodiola plant having approximately 1.3-8.57% total phenolic compounds containing 1-3.5% salidrosides and 0.03-3.6% Rosavins
PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF BAKUCHIOL COMPOSITION SUBSTANTIALLY FREE OF FURANOCOUMARIN IMPURITIES
The present invention relates to a process for preparation of Bakuchiol enriched psoralea extract substantially free of furanocoumarin impurities such as psoralen, isopsoralen and Bakuchicin and composition comprising the same. The process of the present invention uses unpulverized seeds of Psoralea genus of plants such as Psoralea corylifolia and employs novel single column chromatographic separation technique comprising silica gel and aluminium oxide columns clubbed to form single column to obtain a bakuchiol composition which is substantially free of furanocoumarin impurities. The bakuchiol composition is effective for prevention, alleviation, reduction, or treatment of post inflammatory hyper pigmentation (PIH) without any side-effects such as potential phototoxicity, topical irritation, carcinogenicity, and reproductive toxicity associated with furanocoumarin impurities.
Method of isolating sphingolipids from cordyceps and their use
A method of isolating at least one sphingolipid portion selected from a sphingoid base portion, a ceramide portion, a glycosphingolipid portion or a phosphosphingolipid portion from Cordyceps, in particular from wild-type Cordyceps, allows for obtaining sphingolipid portions having an increased amount of one of sphingoid bases, ceramides, glycosphingolipids or phosphosphingolipids. The sphingolipid portions isolated contained significant amounts of sphingolipids not reported so far, and possess exceptional immunosuppressive activities. A method of treating a subject suffering from an inflammatory disease like an autoimmune disease or an allergic disease includes administering sphingolipids isolated from Cordyceps, in particular from wild-type Cordyceps. A method of treating a subject suffering from an inflammatory disease includes administering certain sphingolipids to the subject. Still further in accordance with the present invention is a composition, in particular a pharmaceutical composition comprising at least one sphingolipid portion.
Method for processing raw sugarcane maximizing the preservation of policosanols during production of a natural sugarcane juice-based product
A method for processing sugarcane juice from raw sugarcane stalks to produce various forms of a natural sugarcane juice product preserves policosanols naturally occurring in the raw sugarcane stalks, resulting in policosanol-rich natural sugarcane juice-based products such as a drinking beverage, a concentrated sweetening agent, and a nutraceutical product. The method may include steps of providing sugarcane stalks having high policosanol concentrations; extracting sugarcane juice from the sugarcane stalks via a series of roller mills; filtering the extracted sugarcane juice; stabilizing the pH of the juice in a non-acidic solution of calcium hydroxide; flocculating the sugarcane juice to remove undesirable impurities; optionally, evaporating the sugarcane juice to form a policosanol-rich sugarcane juice concentrate and extracting the sugarcane juice concentrate from the evaporator.
Method of preparing cannabis extracts
The invention relates to a method of preparing cannabis extracts, including shatter, budder and wax extracts. The extraction method can provide a high quality and pure extraction product of THC from cannabis plant material, as either a shatter, wax or budder end extraction product. The extracted product is free of polar cannabis plant material, chlorophyll and residual solvents, has a high concentrate of THC, and can be used for dabbing, vaping or smoking consumption by a user. Suitable solvents for the method are gases selected from the group consisting of propane, butane or iso-butane, and the preferred solvent is propane. A key step of the method of the present invention is recovering solvent under atmospheric vacuum and, therefore, obtaining an extraction product that is purified of solvent and has no solvent.
