Methods and compounds for treating effects of COVID-19 disease
Methods and compounds for preventing and arresting COVID-19 morbidity and mortality, via inhibition of Interleukin-6, TNF-alpha, and other cytokines, and via reduction of C-reactive proteins are provided. Analyses of patients with COVID-19 complicated by ARDS, for example, show highly activated cytotoxic T-cells, resulting from hyperactivation of the immune system. A significant surge of Interleukin-6 (IL-6), TNF-α, and other cytokines are thought to be mediators of this enhanced T-cell activity, and runaway inflammation that are dangerous or fatal to the patient. Example oral formulations dubbed BV-4051 and Artovid-20 provide prophylaxis and treatment of these conditions caused by COVID-19 disease. The example formulations contain plant extracts boosting the human immune system and targeting the detrimental effects of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in its various strains.
APPLICATION OF TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE COMPOSITION TO PREPARATION OF MEDICINE FOR TREATING OR PREVENTING CORONAVIRUS INFECTION

The traditional Chinese medicine composition includes: 5-30 parts of herba houttuyniae, 5-30 parts of flos lonicerae, 5-20 parts of radix paeoniae rubra, 3-15 parts of folium artemisiae argyi and 3-15 parts of herba menthae. The traditional Chinese medicine composition has a good effect of treating or preventing coronavirus-related diseases.
ORAL COMPOSITIONS WITH PLANT MATTER EXTRACTS AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
Provided is a process, including: extracting one or more hydrophobic active ingredients of a plant material using an extraction solvent; transferring the one or more hydrophobic active ingredients from the extraction solvent to a carrier solvent; encapsulating the one or more hydrophobic active ingredients in one or more nanoparticles; and dispersing the one or more nanoparticles in an aqueous suspension, wherein: the one or more nanoparticles have a Z-average diameter between 50 to 950 nanometers; the Z-average diameter of the one or more nanoparticles changes less than 20% when the aqueous suspension is incubated at 40° C. for four weeks; and the Z-average diameter of the one or more nanoparticles changes less than 20% when the aqueous suspension is incubated at 90° C. for 30 minutes.
METHOD FOR REMOVING ANTINUTRIENT FROM TURMERIC SPICE
The present invention provides a method for removing antinutrients from turmeric spice. The antinutrient such as oxalic acid is removed by using the method of present invention and thus the toxicity associated with it is also eliminated. The method includes preparing the turmeric powder and repetitively extracting the turmeric powder with inorganic acid. The turmeric powder is stirred in a pre-defined volume and pre-determined concentration of the inorganic acid for pre-defined time with constant agitation at pre-determined temperature to obtain a turmeric paste. The turmeric paste is then washed with water and dried to obtain the purified turmeric powder.
