A fastener including a chisel point that pre-bores a hole in a work piece to prevent damage to the work piece as the fastener advances. The fastener can include a head, a shaft and a chisel brake point formed at an end of the shaft. The chisel brake point can include first and second opposing inclined surfaces disposed at an angle of about 80° to about 150° relative to one another. A thread can begin adjacent the chisel brake point and form an extension of an inclined surface and/or a chisel edge. The chisel brake point can scrape material from a work piece while pre-boring a hole. The material can be transferred to the thread, and subsequently fed up the thread, out of the pre-bored hole. The chisel brake point can also selectively retard advancement of the fastener into the work piece. Methods of installing the fastener also are provided.

An assembly outdoor balcony are made up of a plurality of columns, cross beams, beams, adjustable hanging elements, wall-assembled hanging elements and balcony panels, wherein the columns are disposed at interval to form the whole periphery of the balcony; the cross beams can be quickly assembled onto the columns through a beam hanger; the adjustable hanging element allows the joint angle between two beams to be different depending on the environment and needs. All component elements are aluminum alloy materials, which are assembled by mutual engagement. Therefore, the assembly outdoor balcony can be assembled, disassembled and adjusted quickly based on the on-site environment.

HINGED TOWER SEGMENTS AND TRANSPORT METHOD

This application relates to hinged tower segments and transport methods, and particularly to methods and apparatus for transporting and storing hinged segments of steel wind turbine towers. The wind turbine tower comprises a plurality of cylindrical vertical tower sections, which in the finished tower are mounted on top of one another. The vertical section of the tower has a longitudinal axis and comprises a plurality of wind turbine tower segments, the tower segments have vertical and horizontal edges and combine to form a complete vertical tower section by joining along their edges. Adjacent vertical tower sections are joined to each other along the horizontal edges of the wind turbine tower segments. Hinges are secured between tower segments and the tower segments rotated about the hinged axis to make them suitable for transport or storage. A method of assembling a tower section is discussed.

A method for on-site assembly of a shelter for an above-ground structure to protect the structure from blast, wind, fire or other physical hazards. A pyramidal shelter with triangular or rectangular base is formed by joining side panels to each other. Each side panel includes a triangular frame covered, except at access hatch, observation port and door openings, with either steel plate or diamond steel mesh to which blast-resistant, fire-resistant or other kinds of coatings or panels are applied. A corner anchor assembly to support each corner of a shelter has a lower plate, an overlying split plate, and a pair of upstanding, anchor rods attached to the split plates for insertion into hollow, lower portions of side beams of adjacent side panels. The corner anchor assemblies facilitate expansion of an assembled shelter by addition of more modular components.

Bamboo Pole Connectors for Building Construction

The present invention provides a construction system for connecting bamboo segments or poles together, where the segments or poles have non-uniform diameters. The system includes elbow connectors, sleeve connectors, T-shaped connectors and six cavity connectors. Also, part of the connectors include connector segments including an opening defined by a plurality of opposingly located arms separated by one or more channels, and at least one hoop-compression clamp adapted to be positioned around the arms. The arms and hoop-compression clamp cooperate to compress the arms against the bamboo segment to secure bamboo segment within the connector opening.

Modular panel assembly for an enclosure

A modular panel assembly for use with, e.g., a shower enclosure. The modular panel assembly includes a plurality of panels, each panel having a first side surface and a second side surface. The modular panel assembly also include a plurality of channel members, wherein each channel member is configured to be coupled to an edge portion of one or more panels. Additionally, a plurality of brackets are provided, wherein each bracket is configured to hold both the first side surface and the second side surface of two or more of the plurality of panels and an end portion of one or more of the plurality of channel members.

Temporary, non-load bearing wall assembly

A temporary, non-load bearing wall panel that when joined together with other one or more like panels, is used as a barrier (also known as a barricade wall) that keeps a construction area, vacant store, or any other undesirable element out of the reach and view of pedestrians. If required by the end user, the panels could be laminated with a visual graphic for reasons of aesthetic enhancement, advertisement of service, announcement of future business expectations, etc. A door and/or window display, dust curtains, etc. may be added to the panels as dictated by the end user.

Holeless Curtain Wall Mullion Connection
20170234007 · 2017-08-17 · ·

A mullion connection system for resisting wind load reactions using a connection clip structurally engaged with a mullion without a hole or a fastener penetrating into the mullion surface. The connection clip can undergo stress-free vertical sliding relative to the mullion along the entire length of the mullion without impairing the structural connection strength; therefore, the building construction tolerance in the vertical direction is eliminated as a design consideration of the curtain wall system. The design also eliminates the need for pre-fabricating mullion holes for the connection locations. The design does not require the pre-determination of the elevation of the connecting point and thus is most beneficial for a curtain wall renovation project where the available locations in the building structure for structural connection cannot be determined prior to the demolition of the existing wall. The uninterrupted mullion tube cavities can be conveniently utilized for inter-floor distribution of utility lines.

CONNECTORS AND METHODS OF FABRICATING THE SAME

A connector for coupling a first column segment having a first inner surface and a first end surface to a second column segment having a second inner surface and a second end surface such that the end surfaces are adjacent one another is provided. The connector includes a plurality of fasteners and a plurality of plates each having a front face, a rear face, and a plurality of fastener apertures extending from the front face toward the rear face. Each of the fastener apertures is sized to receive one of the fasteners when coupling the first column segment to the second column segment such that the plates are spaced apart from one another. Each of the front faces is contoured to seat flush against the first inner surface and the second inner surface when the plates span the adjacent end surfaces of the coupled-together column segments.
