IMPROVED CONNECTOR
A connector (100) is disclosed for use in forming a joint between a first surface (400) and a second surface (410). The connector (100) comprises a housing (10). The connector also comprises a tendon (200). A portion of the tendon (200) can protrude from the housing (10) through a seal (50). The seal (50) is configured to sealably cover an open end (14) of the housing (10) such that the tendon (200) can move through the seal (50) and laterally sideways across the open end (14) together with at least a portion of the seal (50). Also disclosed is a connector (100) system for use in forming a joint, and a method of installing a connector (100) to form a joint, between a first surface (400) and a second surface (410). The connector (100) system and method comprises and makes use of the housing (10) and the tendon (200).
DEVICE FOR SECURING CONSTRUCTION MODULES
The invention provides a system for fixing construction modules based on two fixing devices for assembling three-dimensional construction modules during building construction and complex construction elements for any use, in which first, essentially flat fixing devices comprise two pairs of rigid rods arranged vertically in each pair, one on top of the other, in a U-shape, both pairs of rods being arranged in a concentric manner, thereby defining a U-shaped hole in which bosses are placed, and second fixing devices comprising three pairs of rigid rods arranged vertically in each pair, one vertically on top of the other, with one pair defining an essentially right-angle and the other two pairs of rods being arranged symmetrically with respect to their bisector, thereby defining a hole in the form of an arrowhead in which bosses are housed.
Edge protection system having retaining clip
An edge protection system for use with concrete flooring, including a first part for coupling to an edge portion of a first concrete flooring panel and a second part for coupling to an opposed edge portion of a second, neighbouring, concrete flooring panel, wherein the system includes a retaining clip for retaining the second part to the first part, the retaining clip being frangible to allow separation of the first and second parts after setting of the first and second concrete flooring panels.
Edge protection system having clip retainment
An edge protection system for use with concrete flooring, including a first part for coupling to an edge portion of a first concrete flooring panel and a second part for coupling to an opposed edge portion of a second, neighbouring, concrete flooring panel, wherein the system includes a retaining clip for retaining the second part to the first part, and the first part is slideable relative to the second part to engage the retaining clip against removal from the first and second parts.
Edge protection system having dowel plate
An edge protection system for use with concrete flooring, including a first part for coupling to an edge portion of a first concrete flooring panel and a second part for coupling to an opposed edge portion of a second, neighbouring, concrete flooring panel, a dowel plate and a dowel sheath, wherein the dowel plate is for supporting the second concrete flooring panel relative to the first concrete flooring panel, the dowel sheath is fitted to extend laterally from the first part, with an internal cavity of the dowel sheath aligning with apertures formed in the first and second parts such that the dowel plate is able to be inserted into the dowel sheath cavity through said apertures to a supporting position in which the dowel plate remains in the apertures and extends laterally from the second part.
Locking dowel assembly
A locking dowel assembly for joining wooden objects without glue or screws includes a pair of cups. Each of the cups is inserted into a well in a respective pair of objects intended for joining together. A pair of inserts is provided and each of the inserts is positioned against each other such that the pair of inserts forms a cylinder. The cylinder is inserted into each of the cups for joining the objects together. A retainer is positioned between each of the inserts and the retainer has a plurality of teeth thereon. The teeth engage the cups when the insert is inserted into each of the cups thereby retaining the inserts in the cups.
CONSTRUCTION USING BUNDLED TUBE AND THREADED STEPPED DOWELS
A system and method for creating a column for construction using bundled tube are provided. The column having a bottom portion, a middle portion, and a top portion. Each portion consists of a bundle of individual pillars, comprising a center pillar, a plurality of corner pillars, and a plurality of middle pillars. From the bottom portion of the column, addition pillars can be affixed on top of the pillars of the bottom portion, thus forming the middle and the top portion of the column. Each pillar can be secured to another component using a thread stepped dowel comprising of a base section, at least one middle section, and a tip section, with each section being progressively smaller in circumference than the last. The at least one middle section of the threaded stepped dowel further comprises thread spiraling around the outer surface of the at least one middle section.
Linking device
A device for linking separate members of a dowel cradle, comprising a bar; and at least two couplings, located on the bar. A dowel cradle comprising: at least one load transfer dowel; a basket having a pair of elongate members spaced apart from each other to support the load transfer dowel thereon; a device comprising: a bar located between the two elongate members of the basket; and at least two couplings located on the bar, each coupling being attached to a respective one of the elongate members of the basket.
CONCRETE DOWEL PLACEMENT METHOD AND APPARATUS
A concrete surface with a cold joint, dowel slip system and method for forming that surface are provided. Baseplates having tubular projections are fastened to at least one first form using fasteners extending part way into the first form, with the first form forming part of a periphery of a first concrete slab. When the first form is removed, the baseplates, projections and fasteners remain embedded in the first concrete slab. Slip dowels are inserted into the tubular projections and a second concrete is poured adjoining the first concrete slab, with the second concrete embedding the slip dowels, backplates and projecting distal ends of the fasteners and forming a cold joint.
