FOOD EXTRACTS, METHODS OF EXTRACTION AND COMPOSITIONS THEREOF
The present invention relates, in general terms, to a method of extracting resin glycoside from a plant selected from the Convolvulaceae family. The resin glycosides can be extracted from Ipomoea batatas and/or Ipomoea aquatica. The present invention also relates to the extracts and edible compositions thereof and its use in weight loss and weight management.
Maca extract and use thereof
The present invention relates to a maca extract and uses thereof. The part of the maca extract extracted with polar solvent has anti-thrombotic activity, the part of the maca extract extracted with medium and low polarity solvents has anti-neutrophilic inflammatory and anti-allergic activities, the part of the maca extract extracted with low polarity solvent has anti-neutrophilic inflammatory activity and has pro-angiogenic activity.
EXTRACTION AND INFUSION OF ACTIVE COMPONENTS FROM PLANT MATERIALS
The present invention relates to methods of extracting cannabinoids from cannabis. Also provided is a cannabinoid extract produced by the method of the invention. In one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method of preparing a cannabinoid extract, the method comprising heating cannabis plant material for an appropriate time and temperature in order to substantially decarboxylate the cannabis plant material; (ii) extracting cannabinoids from the decarboxylated cannabis plant material by the use of solvents; and (iii) infusing lipid with the extracted cannabinoids. In one embodiment, the present invention provides for methods of preparing a cannabinoid-infused lipid composition and products made by such methods. In another embodiment, the methods render the normally unpleasant tasting concentrated cannabis oil flavorless or reduced in unpleasantness.
PROCESS FOR PRESERVING THE HUSK AND USE OF RAMBUTAN (NEPHELIUM LAPPACEUM) IN FOOD PRODUCTS
A formulation for delivering one or more health benefits to a human post-consumption and a method to create the formulation are described. The formulation comprises a shell extract of Nephelium lappaceum in a form of a powder or a liquid and at least one material. The at least one material comprises a polysaccharide, a protein, a lipid, and/or a food grade compound. The one or more health benefits to the human include support or regulation of blood sugar, blood pressure, body weight, performance/recovery from sports, immune health, anti-aging, pain management, and/or joint health.
Thin film oxidation of crystallized cannabis products
Crystallized cannabis extract having a purple color is made by first providing cannabis having a detectable amounts of tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA) as well as secondary components including terpenes. Pentane or other solvent is added to the cannabis material to dissolve the secondary components. The cannabis material is enclosed in a filter basket, or a rosin press filter bag, having an average pore diameter of 25 microns. The centrifuge spins the filter bag or filter basket to separate the THCA from the cannabis material and thereby yielding a primary product that is a concentrated cannabis material having at least 95% THCA and a secondary product (high terpene extract) having combined THCA and secondary components including terpenes. The concentrated cannabis material is distilled in a wiped film evaporator or a short path evaporator to oxidize the concentrated cannabis material and yield a super concentrated cannabis material having at least 98% THC.
PROCESS FOR ENHANCING ORGANOLEPTIC PROPERTIES OF NATURAL PRODUCTS AND NATRACEUTICALS THEREOF
A method for increasing functional and organoleptic properties of compositions having elements of biological origin more particularly herbal formulations is disclosed. Nutraceutical formulations for diabetes management and fortification of pulses and grains to lower oil absorption during frying are also disclosed. These foods are effective for weight management.
Method for obtaining an extract of a plant biomass
Provided herein is a method of obtaining an extract from a plant biomass as well as an extract obtained from the method. Also provided is a pharmaceutical product, ODF, nutraceutical product, and/or edible product, that includes the extract and one or more excipients. Also provided is a method that includes orally administering the extract (or pharmaceutical product, ODF, nutraceutical product, and/or edible product, that includes the extract).
HERBAL COMPOSITION JCM-16021 AS TREATMENT FOR INFLAMMATORY BOWEL DISEASE
An herbal composition including Fructus Terminaliae Chebulae, Radix Paeoniae Lactiflorae, Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis, Rhizoma Corydalis Yanhusuo, Herba Polygoni Chinensis, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, and Semen coicis Lachryrna-jobi useful for treating diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease, by increasing regulatory T cells in a subject in need thereof, methods for preparing of use and preparation thereof.
Lycium barbarum extracts, resulting compositions, methods of making and methods of using the same
A composition is provided for promoting skeletal muscle oxidative muscle fiber generation. The composition comprises a Lycium barbarum water extract. The Lycium barbarum extract comprises polysaccharide, Lycium barbarum flavone, carotenoid, polyphenol, and Lycium barbarum pigment. The composition may further comprise one or more pharmaceutically acceptable excipients selected from such as a solvent, a co-solvent, an emulsifier, a preservative, a buffer, a protein powder, or a combination thereof. The composition may be used as medicine, functional product, or food supplement.
PLANT EXTRACTION METHOD
A plant extraction method includes the following steps: 1) preparation of a crude plant extraction solution; 2) separation of the crude extraction solution through a cation resin and an optional anion resin to obtain a collection solution; 3) concentration of the collection solution obtained in step 2); 4) alcohol precipitation of the concentration solution obtained in step 3); and optionally, step 5) concentration and drying. The method can effectively reduce the content of heavy metals in an extract, and reduce the amount of ethanol used in extraction, thereby improving the product quality and lowering the production cost, and the efficiency and safety of industrial production are improved. The extract obtained by this method can be used to prepare drugs for lowering blood lipid, treating abnormal glucose tolerance, treating diseases related to abnormal blood glucose, or regulating intestinal flora, and can be processed into food products, health-care products or drinks.
