Insulated concrete masonry system
A insulated masonry wall system having insulation blocks between structural and face blocks to provide structures that are strong, inexpensive, avoid thermal bridges, and resist transmission of heat. The walls are attractive and versatile, and an enormous variety of decorative face members may be utilized. The face blocks are attached to the structural blocks to prevent facing materials from falling even if fire destroys the insulation blocks between the structural blocks and the facing. The system resists water penetration and effectively drains water that does penetrate any portion of the system.
METHODS OF FASTENING A WALL PANEL TO A WALL, KITS, AND WALL ASSEMBLIES
A method of fastening a wall panel to a wall, according to one illustrative embodiment, comprises coupling a retaining body to a mounting body mounted on an outer surface of the wall adjacent a side edge of the wall panel. Coupling the retaining body to the mounting body may comprise coupling a first connector on an inner surface of the retaining body to a second connector on the mounting body, and positioning a retainer on the retaining body against a retaining surface on the wall panel to fasten the wall panel to the wall. Kits and wall assemblies according to other illustrative embodiments are also disclosed.
LATERAL CONFINEMENT DEVICE, ASSEMBLY, AND METHOD OF USE WITH CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS
Devices, assemblies, and methods for increasing lateral confinement, strength, and/or ductility in construction materials are disclosed. A ring with a continuous outer perimeter that is sized to fit at least partially within a perimeter of a piece of construction material, such as a construction block formed from masonry materials, may be used. The ring may be formed from a material that provides a higher tensile strength than one or more corresponding construction materials, so that when the ring and the one or more construction materials are assembled together, the ring provides increased resistance to lateral forces. This may be used to provide a structure with greater strength and durability.
System for wall construction
A kit and system for constructing structures including at least one core block, at least one fascia block that connects to the core block by mounting a shelf that extends from a face of the core block with a cut-out section of a face of the fascia block, such that the face of the core block and the face of the fascia block form a gap therein between.
WALL BLOCKS, VENEER PANELS FOR WALL BLOCKS AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTING WALLS
Wall blocks, veneers, veneer connectors, walls, and methods of constructing walls are provided. More particularly, the invention relates to constructing walls in which a veneer panel is attached to a wall block with a connector and in which the front faces of the veneers have a desirable texture.
STRUCTURAL MASONRY ASSEMBLY
A fire resistant structural masonry assembly has a plurality of connected triangular masonry units, end caps, minor corners, major corners, lintels, and rebar. Mortar is affixed to the first and second mortar beds and of the triangular masonry units and between the first end cap mortar bed and the first side or the second side of the triangular masonry unit. The R value of a plurality of connected load supporting walls have an R value greater than a standard brick. The fire resistant structural masonry assembly has an overall weight less than identically sized concrete block units (CMU) and clay brick, wherein the chase of the triangular masonry unit is adapted to receive wiring and insulation.
Modular wall system
A modular exterior and interior panel, wall and divider system is provided. The modular wall system includes a support base, a plurality of horizontal two-sided panels, each having opposite vertical edges, and a plurality of vertical members secured to the support base. Each of the vertical members has at least one groove for receiving the opposite vertical edges of the horizontal panels. A decorative layer is applied on at least the exterior surfaces of the horizontal panels and the vertical members.
Masonry wall assembly
Various implementations are directed to a single face building block and masonry wall assembly and methods. Each building block includes a single face shell, first and second webs extending from an interior surface of the face shell, and a pier that has a proximal surface disposed between distal ends of the webs and a distal surface that is opposite and spaced apart from the proximal surface of the pier. Interior surfaces of the webs, the proximal surface of the pier, and a portion of the interior surface of the face shell between the webs define a pocket. In addition, the building blocks may include a ledge that extends outwardly from the distal surface of the pier. This ledge forms a channel with an upper surface of the pier stacked above the block.
