10704257 · 2020-07-07 ·

A foam block and poured concrete building system preferably includes a plurality of wall foam blocks, a plurality of corner foam blocks, poured concrete, a plurality of fastening strips and a plurality of fasteners. Two end cavities are formed in opposing ends of the plurality of wall foam blocks. Top and bottom cavities are formed in the plurality of wall foam blocks. Each corner foam block includes an inner angle plate, three middle spacers and an outer angle plate. Each fastening strip includes a plurality of holes formed at heights that correspond to a height of the plurality of wall foam blocks and the plurality of corner foam blocks. Window frames and doorframes include a plurality of fastening strips. When the plurality of wall and corner foam blocks are assembled to each other with the plurality of fastening strips and fasteners, concrete is poured into vertical cavities therein.

Foam wall structure

A foam wall structure includes a frame, at least one primary support member, a slab of polyiso board and a foam layer. The frame can include: a first member; a second member spaced apart from the first member; and two side members extending between the first and second members. The frame defining a front frame surface and an opposite rear frame surface. The at least one primary support member can be positioned between the two side members and extend between the first and second member. The primary support member defines a front support surface and an opposite rear support surface. The slab of polyiso board may be attached to the front frame surface. The foam layer can be received within at least a portion of the frame and overlies the front surface of the primary support member. A method of making a foam wall structure and a pre-fabricated wall is also disclosed.

A system secures adjacent edges of a first metal-backed wallboard panel and a second metal-backed wallboard panel on a wall structure having spaced-apart metal studs. The system includes a strap having a first surface and a second surface. The strap has a length selected to extend at least between a first metal stud and a second metal stud. The strap includes a plurality of partial cutouts. Each partial cutout includes a transverse portion and a stem portion. The transverse portion has a proximal edge. The stem portion has a first end connected to the proximal edge of the transverse portion and has a second end connected to the strap. The second end extends from the first surface of the strap such that the proximal edge of the transverse portion is parallel to the surface and is spaced apart from the surface by a selected gap distance.

A support assembly supports external veneer such as face-brick. A bracket mounts to a load bearing wall support structure. A shelf angle includes a horizontal leg that defines a surface upon which to mount the veneer. The mounting bracket may be a channel having a seat that includes an outwardly protruding toe, an accommodation for the shelf angle, and an overhanging finger. The back of the shelf angle may have apertures to admit the toes of the mounting bracket. The seat includes an oversized slot having a relief angle to permit the shelf angle web to be rotated angularly during assembly. The mounting bracket has an overhanging arm for engaging the part of a cross-wise running beam, such as an I-beam upper flange. The mounting bracket has an abutment for contacting a lower part of the beam, such as a lower flange of an I-beam. There is a fitting to secure the bracket to the beam.
