SEISMIC CONSTRUCTION METHOD OF BUILDING SLAB
20180245366 · 2018-08-30 ·

The present invention comprises: an external wall installation step for forming a wall by inserting elastic pieces therein such that a core block and an exterior block elastically make contact, and coupling the same to an inner core block; a side end elastic member installation step, of a beam side end, for having an interval region at both end sides of a beam and an external wall inner surface and for fixing elastic members to an interval region; a top elastic member installation step, of a beam top to be interposed between a deck plate, which is installed at the top of the beam, and the beam; a slab forming step for installing the deck plate, a dry heating panel, and a floor finishing panel on the top elastic members; and a slab side end finishing step for sealing and finishing an interval portion among the side end surfaces of the slab and the external wall inner peripheral surface, and thus expected are effects of: ensuring shock resistance of the slab in a building constructed by using assembly-type blocks; having shock resistance, by using an elastic means for a connection region between the wall, built by the assembly-type blocks, and the slab so as to relieve the direct shock transmission; and simultaneously enabling a noise-blocking function capable of preventing shock, noise and the like, transmitted from the slab, from being transmitted to a lower floor.

Systems and methods for monitoring building health

A building monitoring computer system for monitoring building integrity may be provided. Various types of sensors may be embedded throughout or within certain portions of different types of building or construction material making up the building, such as within roofing, foundation, or structural materials. The sensors may be in wireless communication with a home controller. The sensors may be water, moisture, temperature, vibration, or other types of sensors, and may detect unexpected or abnormal conditions within the home. The sensors and/or home controller may transmit alerts to a mobile device of the home owner associated with the unexpected condition, and/or that remedial actions may be required to repair the home or mitigate further damage to the home. The sensor data may also be communicated to an insurance provider remote server to facilitate the insurance provider communicating insurance-related recommendations, updating insurance policies, or preparing insurance claims for review for home owners.

CONTINUOUS WALL ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS

According to one embodiment, an insulated structure includes a frame comprising a plurality of wall studs coupled together and a plurality of foam boards attached to the frame to form a continuous insulative wall. A plurality of fasteners attaches the foam boards to the frame. Each fastener includes an elongate shaft and a cap. The elongate shaft is configured to penetrate through a foam board and into a wall stud to couple the components together. The cap is configured to be positioned atop a foam board to distribute a load relatively evenly to the foam board. A sealing tape is applied across seams between adjacent foam boards and over the fasteners' caps to seal the wall. A sealing caulk is applied to secondary fasteners and penetrations to seal the wall. In some embodiments, the structure has a fastener density of about 1 fastener per 243 in.sup.2 of foam board.

The mortarless brick panel has upper and lower horizontal metal framing tracks with vertical metal wall studs secured therebetween that forms a rectangular frame to which a sheet of expanded metal lath is secured to the face thereof. A sheet of insulation overlays the expanded metal lath and is attached to the frame with screws or other fasteners. The mortarless brick, with a mounting rod protruding from its back side is secured to the panel by hand pressing the mounting rod through the insulation and expanded metal lath and is secured to the expanded metal lath with speed washers or other mechanical fasteners, thereby forming a mortarless brick panel. Time and motion studies have concluded that this mortarless brick can be installed up tp eight times faster than mortar joint brick, providing great savings in erection costs. This savings is used to provide a minimum of four inches of thermal insulation to the exterior walls of the structure to conserve energy and provide great savings to the consumer in heating and cooling costs.
