Apparatus and method for roasting coffee beans
An apparatus for roasting coffee beans comprises a roasting chamber for containing coffee beans. The roasting chamber is positioned within a resonant cavity of a waveguide. A microwave emitter produces microwave energy within the waveguide with one or more stable high intensity microwave regions within the roasting chamber to heat the coffee beans in the roasting chamber to a temperature sufficient to roast the coffee beans. A device configured to move the coffee beans within the one or more high intensity microwave regions is coupled to the roasting chamber.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PREPARING BIOMATERIALS IN THE ABSENCE OF ATMOSPHERIC OXYGEN
Aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to systems and methods for processing biomaterials in the absence of atmospheric oxygen and products resulting from such processes. Such processing techniques may dramatically increase the shelf-life expectancies of roasted and milled biomaterial products when the roasted and milled biomaterial products are not exposed to oxygen during processing.

Non-contact reflectometer vision system
A reflectometer system for use with a non-contact actinic system includes a primary lens, and an illumination source and a detector positioned on an observation side of the primary lens opposite a goods production area and sample region. The illumination source emits an illumination beam through an illumination beam void between the primary lens and the housing, which is directed into the goods production area and sample region, and onto a flow or static sample of material to be tested. The material being tested then create a reflected beam, which shines back to the observation side of the primary lens through the primary lens to the detector. The general alignment of the illumination beam and the reflected beam create an extended sample region within the goods production area, as well as a compact reflectometer system structure.
Method of producing a flash brewed coffee concentrate
A method of brewing a flash brewed coffee concentrate includes flash brewing ground coffee to brew a hot coffee extract and mixing the hot coffee extract with a frozen concentrated coffee extract to chill the hot coffee extract to a temperature less than 130 F. while increasing the concentration of the hot coffee extract to form the flash brewed coffee concentrate.

FLUID BED COFFEE ROASTING SYSTEM
A fluid bed coffee roasting system is disclosed and configured for roasting batches of coffee beans of varying sizes. In at least one embodiment, the system provides a roasting unit configured for roasting a volume of coffee beans, a chaff collection unit positioned and configured for drawing off and capturing any loose chaff released by the coffee beans within the roasting unit, and a cooling unit positioned and configured for receiving and cooling the coffee beans after they are removed from the roasting unit.
Method and device for roasting partially roasted coffee beans
A roasting device and method of roasting partially roasted coffee beans includes acts of obtaining a roast level of the partially roasted coffee beans; determining a roasting profile for roasting based on at least the roast level of the partially roasted coffee beans prior to roasting; and roasting the partially roasted coffee beans according to the determined roasting profile.
