SKYLIGHT DIFFUSER ACCESSORY
A skylight system for a building is provided that includes an upper cover, an interior diffuser that resides below the cover and includes a lens, and a diffuser accessory. The diffuser accessory is carried by the lens, is detachable from the lens, and imparts a degree of translucency, a color, and/or texture to light traveling through it. The diffuser accessory may be a flexible substrate or film, or may be a rigid member, and may adhere to the lens, may be re-attachable to the lens, and may be carried upon either the upper or lower lens surface. The diffuser is both detachable from and re-attachable to the remaining skylight system, for example by threads. The lens and the diffuser frame may be integral.
FENESTRATION ASSEMBLY AND BUILDING SERVICE CONTROL WITH THE SAME
A fenestration system includes one or more of a light modulation controller or ventilation modulation controller. The light modulation controller is in communication with at least one light modulation element of a fenestration assembly having a frame and a panel. The light modulation controller includes a light prescription module configured to provide a specified light prescription for the building interior. A lighting difference module is configured to determine a prescription difference between the specified light prescription and ambient light. A dynamic light module of the light modulation controller operates the at least one light modulation element according to the prescription difference. The ventilation modulation controller is in communication with at least one operator configured to open and close the panel. A ventilation prescription module provides a specified ventilation prescription for the building interior, and a dynamic ventilation module implements panel closing and opening according to the specified ventilation prescription.
METHOD AND APPARATUS OF LIGHT CONTROL USING MICROLENS ARRAYS
The disclosure presents methods and apparatus of light transmission control, comprising two layers of film separated by air, wherein each film is inlaid with a convex micro-lenses array. The first film will focus incoming light through the microlens, whereas the second film contains a grid of opaque areas that will be structured to block or un-block the focal planes of light depending on the thickness of the air layer. When the light is unblocked, the micro lens array in the second film will disperse the light to the other side of the film so it appears transparent or translucent. An attached hand pump can control the thickness of the air layer. The method and apparatus to control light levels is effective, reliable, affordable, intuitive and easy to use. The films can be attached to existing surfaces provide full transparency, a dimming effect, or complete blackout.
Curved reflective skylight curb insert to diffuse incident sunlight in the azimuthal direction
The present disclosed subject matter is a curved reflective skylight curb insert which intercepts and reflects low sun elevation angle sunlight, thereby minimizing glare and providing more uniform illumination within the building below.
LIGHT TRANSMITTING PLASTIC PANEL PROVIDING VARIABLE DAYLIGHT
The present invention discloses an improved light transmitting plastic panel (100) used in buildings for providing a variable daylight either during a day or in various areas of the building. The light transmitting plastic panel (100) consists of two transparent plates (102A, 102B) and a plurality of transparent hollow cells of V-type (104A, 104B) and rhombus shaped cells (106) located in between these plates (102A, 102B). In particular, a structure of the hollow cells is a repetitive sequence of one rhombus cell (106) in between two V-type cells (104A, 104B). Further, some of the hollow cells are made opaque with a predetermined pattern. With this specific structure, the variable daylight is achieved based on a time of day. In another aspect of the invention, differential daylight is provided for different areas of the building by forming a non-continuous flow pattern of opaque hollow cells across the length of the light transmitting plastic panel (100).
INFLATABLE GOLF STUDIO
A portable inflatable golf studio including an arcuate shaped roof panel, first and second side panels, a floor panel, a front panel, a back panel, a projector screen, a projector, and a tracking system. The first and second side panels are positioned parallel from one another and are attached to the arcuate shaped roof panel, wherein one of the first and second side panels defines a cavity configured to receive a television monitor. The floor panel configured to connect the first and second side panels to one another. The front panel removable attached to the arcuate shaped roof panel and the first and second side panels. The back panel positioned parallel to the front panel and attached to the arcuate shaped roof panel and the first and second side panels. Each panel includes one or more of inflatable sections.
DAYLIGHTING ILLUMINATION SYSTEM
A daylight illumination system for integration into a building or larger vehicle comprises a translucent facade element (800) containing a glass sheet and a light redirection element (302 or 708), and a light transport channel (801) for guiding light about horizontally into an interior of the building, the light transport channel comprising one opening attached to the interior side of said facade element and at least one opening towards the interior of the building, characterised in that the light redirection element (302 or 708) is formed as a structured polymer film or sheet attached to a glass sheet of the facade element (800) and is configured for changing the direction of incident light into the about horizontal light transport channel.
DAYLIGHTING PANEL
A daylighting panel for integration into a building or larger vehicle comprises a translucent facade element (800) containing a glass sheet and a light transport channel (801) for guiding light about horizontally into an interior of the building, the light transport channel comprising one opening attached to the interior side of said facade element and at least one opening towards the interior of the building equipped with a luminaire (807), characterised in that the inner walls including the rear end are covered by a reflecting layer (808).
Skylight with compound parabolic diffusers
A skylight to provide daylighting is described that includes a plurality of compound parabolic diffusers into one or more layers that may be dome or pyramid-shaped to enable more efficient collection of sunlight and its distribution through wider angles resulting in more comfortable illumination with less glare and heat gainmore light less heatover wider areas of building interiors.
