Roof vent adaptors and methods
Various roof vent adaptors are disclosed. The roof vent adaptors can be used to seal penetrations on buildings, such as vent penetrations on metal or non-metal roofs. In various embodiments, the roof vent adaptor includes a sealing member, an outer securing unit and an inner securing unit. The roof vent adaptor can be secured to the roof to provide a generally liquid-tight seal around the roof vent, thereby inhibiting or preventing water intrusion into the building.
ROOF MOUNTING SYSTEM
A roof mount assembly mounts a structure to a roof having a rafter and a substrate supported by the rafter. The roof mount assembly includes a piece of flashing positioned on the substrate. The flashing includes a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface and an aperture extending through the flashing. A fastener extends through the flashing aperture. A bracket is connected to the flashing via the fastener, and the bracket is sized to support at least one roof-mounted structure on the roof. A seal is positioned between the flashing aperture and the fastener. The seal is sized to form a water-tight seal with the aperture to inhibit flow of fluid through the aperture. The seal includes a first portion and a second portion, in which the first portion is positioned to abut the flashing first surface and the second portion is positioned to extend through the aperture.

Flexible sheet arrangement for expansion joint and method of installing same. In accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention, a bracket assembly includes a first arm having a first length and a first thickness, a second arm having a second length and a second thickness mechanically coupled to the first arm, and a structural fill coupled to the first and second arms configured to maintain the relative positions of the first and second arms. The structural fill fills a volume enclosed by the first and the second arms. The first and second arms may be cast together as a single piece from material comprising silicone.

A roof mount assembly mounts a structure to a roof having a rafter and a substrate supported by the rafter. The roof mount assembly includes a piece of flashing positioned on the substrate. The flashing includes a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface and an aperture extending through the flashing. A fastener extends through the flashing aperture. A bracket is connected to the flashing via the fastener, and the bracket is sized to support at least one roof-mounted structure on the roof. The seal includes a first portion and a second portion, in which the first portion is positioned to abut the flashing first surface and the second portion is positioned to extend through the aperture.

An anchor and railing assembly for anchoring a baluster or balustrade to both outdoor and indoor structures, such as raised, generally flat or angled roof-like structures or indoor stairs or floors, which includes an anchor baseplate with a top surface and a bottom surface, and an internally threaded bore extending at least partially from the top surface generally towards the bottom surface, a baluster, fasteners for fastening the baluster to the anchor baseplate via its bore, and fasteners for fastening the anchor baseplate to either an outdoor or indoor structure.

Peripheral sealing gland for elongate objects passing through a surface or beyond a pipe end
A peripheral sealing gland is configured to form a seal between an elongate member and a substantially flat surface having an aperture into which the elongate member extends. The sealing gland includes an at least partially frustoconical shaped skirt through which the elongate member is to pass and defining an upper seal structured to deform about and form a first seal to a periphery of the elongate member. The sealing gland includes a flange depending from a lower periphery of the skirt and having an endless lip seal, and a ring configured to bear on the flange so as to apply a pressure to the endless lip seal to form a second seal against the flat surface. The sealing gland includes a resealable split extending from the upper seal to a peripheral edge of the flange, and a compression clamp configured to close the resealable split, forming the first seal.

Peripheral sealing gland for elongate objects passing through a surface or beyond a pipe end
The invention relates to methods of providing peripheral sealing glands for forming a seal between an elongate member and a substantially flat surface. One method includes providing an at least in part frustoconical shaped skirt through which the elongate member is to pass and defining a deformable upper seal configured to deform about and form a first seal to a periphery of the elongate member, providing a flange depending from a lower periphery of the skirt, and providing a substantially rigid ring structured to bear on the outer surface of the flange so as to apply a substantially consistent pressure to the two or more endless lip seals to form a second seal against the flat surface. The skirt includes a retention flange to removably receive the rigid ring and to permit adjustment of the rigid ring relative to the flange.
