HIGH-STRENGH WIND LOAD-RESISTANT LIGHTWEIGHT CEMENTITIOUS SOFFIT ASSEMBLY
A fiber cement soffit comprising a first major face, a second major face, an intermediate portion positioned between the first and second faces and an edge portion surrounding the intermediate portion such that the first and second faces, intermediate portion and edge portion together form a panel of predetermined thickness; and a plurality of apertures extending between the first and second major faces of the soffit through the predetermined thickness forming a vented portion wherein the apertures comprise between approximately 8% and 28% of the total surface area per linear foot of each of the first major face and second major face of the vented portion such that the net free ventilation provided per linear foot of the fiber cement soffit is between 10 and 16 square inches.

INTUMESCENT GRID
An intumescent mesh has a flexible grid with a plurality of strands that form a series of openings in the flexible grid, and an intumescent coating applied to the flexible grid. The intumescent coating is made of an expandable graphite and a polymer-based carrier as ingredients and having an activation temperature above which the intumescent coating swells. The grid is sized such that the intumescent coating permits airflow through the flexible grid until the intumescent coating is exposed to temperatures at or above the activation temperature, whereupon the intumescent coating swells to seal the openings and prevent air flow through the flexible grid.

EXTERIOR INSULATING PANEL AND SYSTEM
An exterior insulating system for a building includes at least one insulating panel having a wall-facing side and an outward-facing side, a top and a bottom, the at least one insulating panel having a slope at the top that angles downwardly from the wall facing side to the outward-facing side; and at least one auxiliary panel having a first elongated edge dimensioned to be fastened along a soffit that is extending outwards from a wall of the building, the first elongated edge opposite a main body of the at least one auxiliary panel from a second elongated edge of the at least one auxiliary panel that is connectable to the at least one insulating panel, the main body incorporating structure for permitting airflow through the main body. In one example, the first elongated edge of the at least one auxiliary panel comprises holes therethrough for receiving respective fasteners to fasten the first elongated edge along the soffit.
EXTERIOR FINISH SYSTEM AND METHOD
EXTERIOR FINISH SYSTEM AND METHOD
An exterior finish system usable in building construction, the system generally comprises at least one wall-sheathing element configured to sheath exterior surfaces of a built structure, the at least one wall-sheathing element constructed of at least one carbon-fiber composite; at least one soffit covering element configured to cover soffit areas of the built structure, the at least one soffit covering element constructed of the at least one carbon-fiber composite; and at least one trim element configured to trim the at least one wall-sheathing element and the at least one soffit covering element, the at least one trim element constructed of the at least one carbon-fiber composite. A kit and method is also disclosed.

TOP OF WALL VENTILATION SCREED DEVICE AND ASSEMBLY
A ventilation screed comprising: a perforated attachment flange portion that is substantially vertical and has a top end and a bottom end and at least one perforation between the top end and the bottom end; a three sided cavity portion having a first side that is substantially horizontal having a left portion and a right portion, a second side that is substantially vertical having a top portion and a bottom portion and the top portion is in communication with the left portion of the first side at a substantially 90 degree angle to the first side and a third side that is between the bottom portion of the second side and the top end of the perforated attachment flange portion at an angle that slopes downwardly, wherein the third side has at least one ventilation opening; and a ventilation spacer along an underside of the three sided cavity portion.

Construction venting strip
A construction venting strip to be placed at the interfaces between framing members that enclose a space. The strip acts as a conduit for the passage of air across it; prevents water from pooling on the surface of underlying framing members; seals penetrations passing through the strip and into the underlying framing members; acts as a thermal break; and may be used as a furring or shim strip. It is a linear strip of polymer with a side locating flange and a waterproof, self-sealing strip in its bottom face, The top face of the strip base has spaced pads extending therefrom with air passage channels there between. The air passage channels are configured for angular cut lines.
