Roof Vent and Solar Water Heater
A heat exchange device including a flexible hinge, a solar collector, a tank containing serpentine or coiled tubes which contain municipal water, wherein the tank contains thermal transmission vents designed for outflow of hot gasses from an attic, an insect screen, a precipitation drain and an attachment area is hereby disclosed.
Roof attachment systems and methods
A roof attachment system and methods of using same during the installation, maintenance, or repair of a roof on a commercial or residential building structure. The roof attachment system and the related methods of using and implementing the system include, among other things, an anchor or internal support assembly, and a hook or securement assembly. The roof attachment system enables the installer to utilize at least one internal support assembly, or at least one internal support assembly and the securement assembly to install the roof, depending upon the installation stage of the roof. Upon completion of the installation process, the roof includes multiple concealed internal support assemblies that provide multiple anchor points that are spaced an appreciable distance apart along the ridgeline of the roof. When the roof requires maintenance or repair, the securement assembly can be removably coupled to a specific internal support assembly to facilitate the maintenance or repair by a technician while also reducing the chances that the technician experiences a fall from the roof.
Off-ridge roof ventilation device
An off-ridge roof ventilation device for placing on an opening of a roof deck. The ventilation device comprises an elongated main hood with a curved shape. The right end of the main hood is closed by a right-side panel, and the left end of the main hood is closed by a left-side panel. The main hood comprises a perforated top face and a venting opening on a bottom face. A throat panel is placed on the bottom face of the main hood in a manner to reduce the venting opening. A perforated interior panel is placed between the top face of the main hood and the throat panel to eliminate wind driven rain and/or snow even in high wind situations. The perforations are preferably designed as mini-louvers, wherein the mini-louvers of the main hood and the mini-louvers of the throat panel comprise the same shape and count the same number.
Tent with configurable flue openings
Roof beams or ridges having configurable vent or flue openings therein are disclosed. Such members may be used in tents or other temporary structures to allow for versatility in positioning stoves, heaters, or other apparatuses requiring exterior venting therein.
Self ventilating roof system
A self-ventilating roofing system that comprises a rigid deck that is connected to the roof support system and has a lower horizontal opening parallel to the eave, on both slopes, and above the attic space. There is also an upper opening on either side of the ridge. A radiant barrier comprising of a reflective layer applied over the roof deck. A slice is made in the radiant barrier over the lower and upper opening of the deck to allow air to enter the lower opening and exit the upper opening. An insulated panel with vertical grooves is installed over the radiant barrier with the groove side face down. This insulated panel is made of a type of insulated material. A metal drip edge is then installed along the eave. This drip edge should be installed with an air gap between the facia and the drip edge sufficiently wide enough to allow air to enter. A vented ridge vent is then installed at the ridge to allow for the weather proof exit of the air. When a metal roof is being installed then the metal panels can be attached on top of the insulated panel. When an asphalt shingle or wood shake roof is being installed then a nailable panel must be installed over the insulated panel. The insulated panel can be made of rigid insulated pane or a flexible insulated panel with the ability to be rolled up for ease of installation.
Sealing gasket, flashing arrangement, and method of sealing a gap between flashing members for a roof window
A sealing gasket (4) for use between flashing members (31,32) is disclosed. It comprises a compressible sealing section and an attachment section comprising at least two legs configured for engagement with a flashing member, both sections extending over substantially the entire length of the sealing gasket. The at least two legs of the attachment section project from a base section of the attachment section so that a first recess and a second recess extending in parallel are defined, said first and second recesses being configured for engagement with a flange, ridge, or leg on a flashing member. The invention further relates to a flashing arrangement and to a method of sealing a gap between flashing members for a roof window.
CONTOURED MESH RIDGE VENTS
Ridge vents and deck covers are disclosed that have a fibrous mesh mat and a moisture barrier. The mesh mat may be contoured to define a variety of structures and may have regions of relatively higher fiber density and regions of relatively lower fiber density. Solar cells may be exposed on the ridge vents to collect solar energy when the vents are exposed to sunlight.
BUILDING RIDGE VENT SYSTEM
A ridge vent system is provided including a ridge vent having opposing exterior sidewalls that each define multiple fastener recesses that extend inward from the exterior sidewalls and downward from a top plate, where each recess has multiple recess slots that cooperate with adjacent sidewall slots to form contiguous vented areas along each of the opposing exterior sidewalls to provide enhanced attic ventilation and/or airflow through the ridge vent, while still providing fastener recesses that facilitate rapid and efficient application of fasteners therethrough.
Ridge vent for use on a roof ridge
A vent having a continuous, elongate mat having an upper face and a lower face, and having a first portion and a second portion. The mat includes a plurality of columns of patterned three-dimensional structures of a network of randomly convoluted polymeric filaments having a first density, at least one of the plurality of columns of patterned three-dimensional structures being provided in the first portion, and at least one other of the plurality of columns of patterned three-dimensional structures being provided in the second portion. The mat includes a throat portion between the first portion and the second portion, the throat portion having a network of randomly convoluted polymeric filaments of a second density different than the first density, a first cover layer covering an outer edge of the first portion, and a second cover layer covering an outer edge of the second portion.
